"White filling". Varieties for the Russian climate

"White filling" is a variety that occurs in a number of plants. Among them, apple and tomato are the most popular. Apple trees of this kind are known in Russia in that they grow successfully and bear fruit well on the island of Valaam, where about half a thousand pieces were planted inside the monastery walls. To successfully develop them, rich soils are not needed, but loams with sufficient moisture and places protected from strong winds are considered optimal.

The apple tree "white pouring" has a beautiful pyramidal (southern version) or round (northern variant) crown, medium sizes and high frost resistance. The fruit bearing dates for young specimens are fast, the harvest is collected annually, and it is abundant enough. The advantage of the variety is the early lush flowering, the buds are not afraid of frosts or cold rainy weather.

Apples "white filling" are ready for use usually in early August in the middle zone of Russia, and in the north - later, which allows you to classify the category as early ripening. Fruits of medium size are larger and may have different halves or "seam" along the apple. Coloration greenish-yellowish, does not have a blush, in the phase of ripeness - white and yellow with numerous whitish dots under the skin.

The sort of "white filling" is not easy, the fruit is stored for about three weeks. This is facilitated by a very thin skin and a lack of cover color, so gentle apples with a taste of wine are best used immediately or made from them juices. It is recommended to strictly observe the harvesting time, because fruits easily fall and acquire a mealy taste. Apples of this variety are poorly transportable, that's why they are grown mainly in the suburban areas for personal consumption.

For a short and often not hot Russian summer, it is necessary to select the cultures of early maturation, which include "white liquid" tomatoes. This proven variety was created a long time ago, in 1967, on the basis of such varieties of tomatoes as "Victor", "lighthouse", "Pushkin". Plants of this species are medium-sized (about 44 cm), giving ripening fruit with a mass of 100-150 g with good taste qualities. The fruits are rounded, with a small ribbing. The culture is perfectly adapted to lower temperatures, it can be grown under a film and in the open ground. For seedling, the seeds are planted in early April, in May-June they can be placed in the ground, and the yield can be obtained somewhere in 110-115 days for certain species ("white pour-241" in the southern regions).

White-filled tomatoes have dense peels, are resistant to cracking, so they are well transported. To their advantages also include sufficient resistance to phytophthosis, which allows in protected soil to obtain up to 8 kg of products from one square meter. The culture needs two or three additional fertilizing during the whole vegetation period, in watering with warm water, as well as a garter to the vertical trellises in the phase of the formation of a single stem. Experts classify tomatoes of this variety as one of the best for growing on the territory of Russia.
