John Walker (Sr.), born in 1805, after reaching the age of 14 years, becomes the manager of a family grocery store. Everyone who knew the young man noted his unique abilities in the field of mixing (blending) the varieties of tea. Later, in close collaboration with his son Alexander Walker, John creates his first grade of blended whiskey, and for the first time in history pours it into glass containers.
