What to read for the soul of a modern person

All of us from childhood were taught that an educated person is simply necessary to read, and you need to do this as often as possible. Probably, students and students of humanitarian faculties were much more fortunate in their choice of useful and correct literature. For them a special list of books is compiled. Adult people are faced with the question of what to read for the soul, where more often.

After all, in fact, it often happens that the home library has already been read, and the assortment in bookshops is so great and varied that it can confound even the most inveterate book-lover.

First, let's figure out what exactly you expect, leafing through the next, most likely, interesting books, recommended by friends, co-workers or relatives.

Everyone, as a rule, picks up something special for themselves. Someone likes adventure, and someone prefers humorous works. For some, interesting modern books are those literary masterpieces that can not only take over the soul, but also turn something inside, forcing to look at the world differently. But for others it is important to have so-called easy reading, because often it is precisely this that serves as a wonderful way to relax after a difficult and hectic working day.

Let's take a closer look at each of the above genres and thus allow an answer to the question of what to read for the soul, to appear as if by oneself.

Romantic classics. Very often it is these works that can impress the reader with their sincerity and simplicity of the described plot. But at the same time, the analysis of the feelings of the heroes is permeated with profound psychology. To such novels, I would include the works of Jane Austen "Feeling and Sensibility" and "Pride and Prejudice", as well as John Irving's world-famous bestseller "Winners' Rules."

Intellectual fiction. Such books are intended for those who are used to thinking and delving into the very essence of things. If you consider yourself as such, stop by one of Dan Brown's popular novels, The Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons.

Works that can change the worldview. Undoubtedly, one can not but relate the novel of the Polish author Janusz Vishnevsky "Loneliness in the network." The story described in the book could well have happened to one of us: young people get acquainted through the Internet, exchange news, make friends and finally fall in love. This literary masterpiece makes us stop in some way and look at ourselves from the outside. The reader is simultaneously in two states. He, like the main characters, will literally tear apart the contradictions that arise between the two worlds: real and virtual.

Fantasy and adventure. If you like a dynamically developing plot and have just stopped before choosing what to read for the soul, the book by Dmitry Glukhovsky "Metro 2033", as well as its continuation "Metro 2034" - is exactly what you need. The action develops in the depths of the Moscow metro, in which, after a nuclear explosion, former residents of the Russian metropolis are forced to live. How similar is the relationship between stations on the relationship of today's world, in which each of us lives! The same racial hostility is observed, the same worship of wealth and luxury, but at the same time, the feeling of patriotism, the desire to protect the homeland, friends and relatives at any cost, wins.

Of course, here is not given a complete list of works worthy of attention of the modern reader. What to read for the soul and what to choose is the decision of everyone. Personal. It's just a matter of taste.

However, it is important to always remember that any book contains a huge and almost inexhaustible amount of information, but in order to understand and comprehend what is read, it takes time. The book must be thought out and realized in the head, otherwise reading becomes an idle pastime.
