Welcome to Chisinau: the airport meets passengers with caravaj with salt

Chisinau Airport is small, cozy and practical, with well thought out infrastructure, a rich choice of paid services and free services.

In one terminal, everything that is necessary for passengers, mourners, visitors and airport employees is compactly packed. Despite less than impressive dimensions, Moldova's main airport is one of the most actively developing air harbors of the post-Soviet space.

Chisinau Airport was repeatedly nominated for the best airport of the CIS countries and was awarded prestigious awards, titles and grants.

Services and Services

For people arriving for the first time in Chisinau, the airport is the gateway to a new culture, country and city. That is why Moldova's main airport tries to anticipate the needs and requirements of passengers and visitors.

Since November 2013 the airport of Chisinau has been conceded to the Russian company JSC AVIA INVEST, which plans to equip a multi-level underground car park with 800 seats. Before the opening of a new parking lot, passengers and mourners are advised to leave the car in the open area 200 meters from the airport building or take advantage of temporary free parking right at the terminal.

It is fashionable for the escort to leave the car briefly (no more than three minutes) just in front of the entrance to the departure hall.

Chisinau Airport offers passengers, if necessary, to use the wireless Internet, airport information desk, medical center, mother and child room and a children's playground for free.

Among paid services, passengers can take advantage of the VIP lounge waiting room, conference rooms, 24-hour Duty Free shops, air ticket offices and travel agencies, currency exchange, cafes and restaurants, as well as car rental and taxi services.

In order to demonstrate how hospitable Moldova and its capital Chisinau, the airport offers the service "Meeting with bread and salt", which provides greeting the guest with a caravan and salt from the airport employees in national costumes for folk music.

Airport Operation

Annually the main international airport of Moldova serves about 7,500 flights, more than one million passengers and is the "home" for such airlines as Air Moldova and Moldavian Airlines.

In the halls of the airport there are official air ticket offices Air Moldova, Moldavian Airlines, Carpatair, AirBaltic, Austrian / Lufthansa, Turkish, Utair and Wizzair.

Despite the fact that a taxi to the center will cost about 5 €, it is necessary to be careful about choosing a carrier. Near the airport building around the clock, a lot of illegal drivers are on duty, offering to take passengers quickly and cheaply to Chisinau. The airport offers official transportation - the 24-hour taxi cabs of operators are located just outside the arrival hall.

For those whose acquaintance with Moldova is limited to a transit flight, everything that can be needed for a comfortable break or change of flight will be provided by Chisinau Airport: tickets for connecting flights, a VIP lounge, 24-hour Duty Free and a cafe.

It does not matter how long you arrived at the airport - Moldova, Chisinau, Orhei, Cricova and other cities with the sights of this small country will welcome all comers.
