We control the microclimate. Relative humidity

Recently, we are increasingly convinced how dependent a person is on the surrounding nature. By him, the disturbed ecology response in the form of global warming, climate change and other disturbance of normal (habitual) conditions of existence has a negative impact on the health of no longer individual individuals suffering from this or that disease, but practically on all people inhabiting the planet Earth.

The relevance of this problem is confirmed by the reports of the World Health Organization, statistical indicators of the growth of somatic and infectious diseases, a decrease in the average life expectancy, and the manifestation of other negative trends in a wide range of medical and statistical data. And this is all at the modern level of development of medical technologies and huge experience in the treatment and prevention of virtually all human diseases.

Solve at least partly the problem can be the creation of a favorable microclimate of their homes and workplaces. To regulate the temperature at the level of established health standards or to make it simply cozy for a person we have already learned a long time. But in addition to temperature indicators, there are many other criteria for assessing the microclimate of the premises. Among them, relative humidity plays an important role. From the amount of moisture in the air depends people's well-being, their performance, the ability within a particular room to get a full-fledged quality rest.

Reduced humidity adversely affects the skin and mucous membranes. Their drying can lead to the appearance of microcracks, and these are open ways for the penetration of various infections. Increased humidity causes a feeling of heaviness, adversely affects the work of the cardiovascular system and other systems of the human body.

The optimal humidity in the apartment has a clear frame. To classify this indicator, you can use the following rules:

- from 20% and lower - corresponds to extremely low humidity;

- from 30 to 40% - just low;

- from 40 to 55% - the most optimal humidity;

- from 60 to 65% - already an indicator of high humidity;

- from 70 to 75% - high humidity;

- from 75% and higher - the humidity is very (extreme) high.

To recall what the relative humidity is, let's turn to the physics course of the secondary school level. From the first reading, the definition of this value looks confusing and a bit incomprehensible. But a little understanding, it becomes clear that the relative humidity is a value equal to the amount of moisture (steam) that is in a certain volume of air (absolute humidity) to the amount of the maximum possible amount of water that can be contained in the air at this temperature. This value is measured in percent.

If the first part of the expression does not cause special questions, then the second part must be understood. The point is that water vapor can not dissolve in the air without limit, there comes such a moment when the steam becomes saturated, and the excess moisture entering the air drops out in the form of condensate, rain, fog or dew. This indicator depends on temperature and pressure.

Determination of the relative humidity of air is carried out using a variety of instruments. Modern industry has established the production of various psychrometers, hygrometers, thermohygrometers, wet-bulb temperature meters and temperatures, moisture sensors , moisture meters, anemometers and other devices. But the most important thing is that there are technical devices on sale that can regulate the humidity level.

The relative humidity of air increases with the help of special humidifiers, air conditioners equipped with this function are used for dehumidifying air.
