Yellow body cyst

The yellow body cyst often occurs where the follicle (not the regressing yellow body) bursts due to fluid accumulation in it. This fluid sometimes contains blood. The yellow body, exceeding 3 cm in diameter, is already considered a cyst. Its average size is considered to be a new growth in diameter of 6-8 cm. The frequency of their occurrence is relatively small - only up to 5%.

They occur in women of childbearing age (16-50) years. The reasons for the appearance of such a neoplasm have not yet been fully studied. Scientists have suggested that the cause of their appearance may be a violation of blood circulation or lymph circulation in the yellow body. Often such a cyst is formed against a background of two-phase menstrual cycles.

What is the yellow body cyst? The causes of its origin have been poorly studied, but the process of its origin has been studied quite well. It is known that in the ovary a yellow body is called the temporary gland of internal secretion, inherent only in the female body. It produces the female hormone progesterone, estrogen and the hormone of the yellow body. It appears immediately after the onset of ovulation. The gland received its name by its characteristic yellow color, apparently on a cut. It is formed in the luteal phase of the menstrual cycle at the time of the release of the egg, which passes through the special granulosa-like cells of the ovarian follicle. The formation of this body is controlled by the luteinizing hormone of the pituitary gland. In the 2nd phase of the endometrial cycle of the uterus under the influence of progesterone is prepared for the anticipated pregnancy. When fertilization does not occur, with time the iron decreases in size and degenerates into a scar. At this time, the production of progesterone decreases, and eventually menstruation occurs.

If fertilization does occur, the chorionic hormone of the gland remains active for 12 weeks. At this time, the development of progesterone, necessary for the preservation and development of the fetus, continues. The yellow body prevents the development of other eggs, stimulates the growth of the endometrium, and also prevents the onset of another menstruation.

Cyst of the yellow body, the symptoms of which are poorly expressed, often found after a time after its onset. So it can grow imperceptibly up to 3 months, after which, without cause and sudden, it undergoes involution (gradual reverse development until it disappears completely). Sometimes a symptom of this kind of cyst is menstrual irregularities, abnormal discharge (abundant, lean, prolonged), drawing pains.

The cyst of the yellow body is often accompanied by complications. These include hemorrhage into her cavity, torsion of the legs, tears of the cysts. In such cases, the symptomatology of the disease is manifested by acute pain from the damaged ovary, cramping pains in spilled nature, the appearance of nausea, vomiting, abdominal tension, painful palpation. Often there is a delay in the stool, a violation of gas formation.

The further condition only worsens: there are signs of intoxication, facial features are sharpened, the pulse becomes faster, the pulse is weakened, the skin and mucous pale, a sticky and cold sweat appears on the body and face. If you do not render a sick woman in time a qualified help in a hospital hospital, death is quite possible.

When the cyst of the cyst is twisted, a significant increase occurs, fibrin accumulates on the surface, which leads to the formation of adhesions between the intestine and the omentum. As a result, the mobility of the cyst is lost. Torsion of the legs manifests a sharp pain, more manifested in the side of the lesion. In some cases, nausea, increased heart rate, vomiting, an increase in temperature, the abdomen becomes painful.

During vaginal examination, a tautoelastic formation with oval shape, limited mobility, painful when displaced or palpated, is detected behind or on the side of the uterus. To establish the diagnosis, a gynecological examination, ultrasound, laparoscopy is performed. If the involution of such a cyst does not occur, it is removed by surgery.
