VAZ 21061 is a classic of the Soviet period

Legendary "Six" - the most prestigious car of the late seventies and early eighties throughout the USSR. The chassis could withstand loads of up to one ton without the slightest deformation and was found suitable for any subsequent VAZ rear-wheel drive model.

VAZ 21061 was equipped with its own engine series 06 - gasoline, in-line, longitudinal installation, power of 72 hp. With upper timing. The diameter of the cylinders was 76 mm, the stroke of the piston was 80 mm. As we can see, the principle of operation of the piston group was still short-stroke, which means that the engine operated in a high-speed mode, which was its technological norm, since the lubrication system of crankshaft and crankshaft nuts is designed for high oil flow pressure. Revolving engines became a hallmark of all VAZ models, and each owner had to take it as a reality.

For many drivers, high engine speeds seemed unnecessary fuel overexpenditure, but the economics of VAZ engines were repeatedly proven during tests on the factory track, as well as in the process of operation in private. VAZ 21061, the characteristics of which were quite high for that time, was a classic four-door sedan with a spacious trunk, in the niche of which on the right side was a petrol tank for 39 liters. In the front part of the trunk was a shelf 24 cm wide, then the vertical panel that separated the luggage compartment from the passenger compartment began. The rear seat of the "six" was a solid three-seater, and the back was divided into two parts by the reclining armrest. The stuffing of the rear seat was natural, from coconut fleece.

Since the car VAZ 21061 was considered a luxury car, the upholstery of the seats was velor, and the doors had upholstery from high-quality locks with embossing. Even lower was the flap with two levers controlling the curtains of the heating unit. An ashtray was even lower. On the right was a classic "glove box" with an internal illumination for small things. The console was installed separately. The shift lever was very comfortable, all the control pedals were also in the optimum position, in terms of convenience. The entire interior was designed carefully, and at the same time the VAZ 21061 tuning allowed in all areas of the exterior, as well as interior layout.
