Ukrainian referee Boyko Sergey

Boyko Sergey is a former football player, but now a football referee. He is quite young - he was only 39 years old. While still a football player, Boyko Sergey played the position of the goalkeeper, but quickly completed his professional career.

Carier start

Boyko Sergey was born on June 30, 1977 in the city of Belgorod-Dnestrovsky in the Ukrainian SSR. He started playing football very early, his strong side was standing at the gate. Soon he joined the youth academy of the local club "Dnestrovets". It was there that he passed professional training, step by step moved to realize his dream.

Boyko Sergey, like many young guys, dreamed of becoming a football player and playing for one of the leading clubs of the Soviet Union. However, unfortunately, the level of the player was low enough for him, so the goalkeeper did not reach such heights. In 1995, when the Soviet Union had already disbanded, Boyko signed a professional contract with the Dnestrovets, whose pupil was. At that time the club was already performing in Ukrainian, and not in the Soviet championship.

The game in the Dniester

Sergei Boyko - a football player who could not realize himself in a big sport. In his native club at a professional level, he spent only two seasons. The athlete entered the field in eleven matches and showed a very good result, conceding only six goals. Naturally, it was very difficult to fight for a place because of the position - field players always get more chances, because they can leave the bench for substitution or take not the most convenient position for themselves, but still get the practice game. Goalkeeper in this regard is not so easy, so most of the time Boyko was sitting on the bench. He played only 11 games, but in them he showed himself from the best side. In total, he missed only six goals, but in 1997, when his contract with the club came to an end, he had to change club registration.

Going to "Portovik"

In 1997, the young goalkeeper moved to "Portovik", who also played in the Second League of Ukraine, but he needed a goalkeeper. Sergei took a vacant place, but could not prove to be good performances. He played 18 games, but missed too many of them - as many as 28 goals. Naturally, such a result did not suit the leadership of the club, which decided not to renew the contract with the goalkeeper.

Therefore, in 1998, the 21-year-old goalkeeper remained in the status of a free agent - his track record was too unimpressive to attract the attention of another club from the Second Division. Therefore it was "Portovik" that became the last professional club for which Sergey Boyko was speaking. Biography of a young man from that moment has changed dramatically.

Performances for amateur clubs

Boyko spent some time looking for a new team, but when he realized that he had nothing to expect from professional clubs, went to the lower divisions, where he joined one of the amateur teams. He continued to play in various amateur teams from his native Odessa region, as well as from Odessa itself, however he did not go to the professional level.

Career arbitrator

When Boyko Sergey Nikolayevich finished playing football, he decided to become a professional judge. As a result, the former goalkeeper passed the necessary courses and got a license to service the matches of the Championship of Ukraine. His first game took place in April 2007 - it was a confrontation between the clubs "Nikolaev" and "Krymteplitsa".

From that moment he began to constantly serve various matches of the championship. As a result, to date, he has 108 games in the Ukrainian league, the last of which took place on December 3, 2016, where he judged Lugansk "Zorya" and "Dnepr". However, this is only work on the domestic scene. Boyko did not stop only in Ukraine and went much further, constantly gaining increasing fame and getting increasingly important matches.

Work in the international arena

In January 2011, Boyko received a license from FIFA, which allowed him to judge games not only in Ukraine, but also abroad, in European and world tournaments. The first international match, which he sue, was a friendly match between the national teams of Turkey and South Korea, held in February of the same year. As for club games, he started with the Europa League, and in 2012 his first major international match was already held.

In September, Boyko was appointed the main arbiter for the game of the group stage of the Europa League between the French "Lyon" and the Czech "Sparta". In the same month, Boyko got a chance to judge his first official match of teams - it was a match of the qualifying stage for the World Cup between the national teams of Sweden and Kazakhstan. In 2013, Boyko added to his track record, and work in the final part of the European Youth Championship, where he worked on such important matches as the semi-finals between the national teams of Spain and Norway. In February 2014, the referee sued his first match in the European League at the playoff stage.
