The Akbuzat racetrack is one of the main architectural sights of Ufa and the pride of the majority of citizens. At the same time, looking at its super-modern look, many do not realize that the history of this arena for horse racing has more than 130 years.

The Akbuzat racecourse: history

It all started in 1883, when it was decided to found a stable stables in Ufa with a hippodrome. By the beginning of the 20th century the Ufa arena for horse racing was already considered one of the best in the country, and in 1924 a new building was built for it. For many years the racetrack was used to test trotting horses and was known far beyond the borders of the republic. In honor of the 425th anniversary of the voluntary annexation of Bashkirs to Russia in 1982, a new arena was built in Ufa and named it "Akbuzat" - in honor of the winged horse from the epic of the Bashkir and Tatar peoples. This stadium has repeatedly become a venue for riders, including international competitions, and 7 times recognized as the best hippodrome of the USSR, and later Russia.

Reconstruction

The Akbuzat racetrack in Ufa was radically reconstructed in 2007. The project of the new appearance of the structure was developed by the Japanese company RAUM Architects, and the work on its implementation was entrusted to the firm "Bashkortostanneftezavodstroy." The reconstruction of the racecourse was timed to coincide with the 450th anniversary of the entry of Bashkortostan into the Russian Empire. In honor of the opening of the renovated arena there were organized 16 All-Russian Competitions Horsemen.

Arena Description

The reconstructed racetrack "Akbuzat" became universal and more spacious. Now it is possible to hold races not only trotters, but also pedigree horses of riding breeds, as well as organize competitions for all Olympic equestrian sports and spectacular races. For the first time in the world, a single drainage system was installed at the Ufa Hippodrome across the entire area of the arena's oval. Running and race tracks, jumping and dressage fields are fenced with innovative plastic material produced by the French company Fornells. In addition, the arena is laid all-weather primer from Vistecs.

Sports and training sector

For the organization of competitions and trainings on the racetrack there are 2 fields. One of them is intended for the organization of competitions in the higher school of riding, and the second - for the departure of ponies. There are also a contest and warm-up fields and four tracks:

• The outer path (the first, the raceway). It is designed to perform tests in smooth races of riding pedigree horses. Its length is 1144 m, width - 16 m, turning radius - 106 m with bends up to 5 degrees. The external path corresponds in its parameters to all international requirements to conditions in which large spectacular jumps of the highest level can be held.

• The second (running). This track is used to test tribal trotters. Length - 1000 m, width - 18 m, turn up to 8 degrees.

• The third (technical). It is designed to provide the possibility of access to special equipment for watering and congresses, as well as accompanying racing and racing teams of judges. The length is 950 m.

• Fourth (training)

This track is not used during the competition, and for the safety of athletes and horses is covered with sand. The length is 893 m.

Description of the building

The Akbuzat racetrack in Ufa has a large and very comfortable main stand, equipped according to all world standards. The building itself is a four-level building, and in addition to places for spectators, there is a tote, a medical office, jockey rooms with changing rooms and showers, administration offices, a comfortable VIP lounge, buffets, club rooms, restaurants and a judiciary. At the same time, the building accommodates up to 5000 spectators. Most of those who buy race tickets can watch the competition because of the glass, i.e. in a comfortable environment, even if the weather is not conducive to outdoor entertainment. If there is a desire to see the performances near the treadmill, then this can be done by placing on one of the 1500 seats in the open stands.

Museum of the Hippodrome

As already mentioned, the history of Akbuzat is more than 130 years old. In order to give an idea of the achievements of the Bashkir horse breeders and the victories witnessed by its arena, a small museum was opened on the territory of the complex. There visitors can see the "Wall of Records" with photos, including unique ones, of the twelve most famous horses of the republic. In addition, the museum holds cups, which were won by Bashkir horsemen in different years. In general, many fans of riding in Russia are the first with which the word "Ufa" is associated - the Akbuzat racetrack.

Conference hall

The Akbuzat racecourse has a modern, spacious conference hall located on the 3rd floor. Its area is 281.9 square meters. M, and capacity - up to 150 people. There are installed:

The fact is that they practice hippotherapy - special classes in horse riding, during which the children activate their nerve endings and start working groups of muscles that are "asleep" at the usual time. Children are trained under the guidance of an experienced instructor who has an appropriate international certificate.
