Train "Sapsan": the scheme of the car

More recently, the train was perceived as a little-comfortable means of transportation throughout the country. But over time, the level of comfort for passengers began to grow. In long-distance trains, it has become the norm when a set of amenities includes napkins, towels, hygiene items.

Sapsan: fast transport

The newest high-speed train is called "Sapsan". So the railroad transportation company shows that the new rolling stock is as fast and quick as the falcon bird.

Especially for the Russian corporation Russian Railways, the German machine building concern Siemens designed the train "Sapsan", the scheme of the car is fundamentally different from the usual for many Russians. The design maximum speed of the new machine reaches 350 km / h.

The basis for the new trains was the Velaro platform, the modification of the ICE 3 trains. The design requirements took into account the requirements of the standards and the climatic conditions of Russia.

Trains are actively operated in two directions "Moscow - St. Petersburg" and "Moscow - Nizhny Novgorod". And on the last branch of the train, as a rule, two-system, where, with the length of the route of 436 kilometers, the maximum speed reaches 160 km / h. While single-system trains of the first direction move with a speed of up to 250 km / h with a length of 645 km.

"Peregrine Falcon" - train of the new generation

Unlike the usual configuration in the trains "Peregrine Falcon" the scheme of the car is fundamentally new. And as such, the locomotive composition is no longer there.

In Russia, there was an earlier attempt to develop a train with high-speed characteristics up to 350 km / h. Since 1992, for seven years the Central Design Bureau of Marine Engineering "Rubin" was preparing for the launch of the first high-speed Russian train - Sokol-250 (ES-250). And by 2000 a prototype was assembled.

Design solutions "Falcon" had no analogues in the practice of domestic engineering. He had such characteristics:

• All-welded body made of light aluminum alloys ;
• Train control on the basis of a microprocessor system;
• Improved traction drive, with a new pantograph, etc.

But the development of the Falcon-250 was suspended and frozen, as it was decided that it would be easier and more profitable to use the developments of the company Siemens with minor improvements taking into account the Russian realities.

The first flight "Sapsan" made on the route "Moscow - St. Petersburg" on December 17, 2009.

It consisted of 10 cars with a total capacity of more than 600 passengers, the entire route covered in 3 hours and 45 minutes.

Where to eat?

In the train "Sapsan" the scheme of the dining car is fundamentally different from the traditional concept of "restaurant". It is divided into two zones. One zone with a buffet and stands with standing places for a quick snack, the second - with comfortable seats with tables for four passengers. To order food from the restaurant can also other passengers of the train, and in business-class wagons food is already included in the ticket price. The lunch and service package is similar to the one offered in airplanes.

Comfort cars

As in the case of air transport, the Sapsan trains have a 1st class car for the convenience of passengers.

In addition to a special meeting room, the seats in which are bought immediately for four people, here for passengers installed leather chairs. They are foldable, with adjustable back, not only for the entire back, but also for the lumbar region.

For increased convenience, there is individual lighting with a separate entertainment system. There is a Wi-Fi zone and the ability to recharge mobile devices.

Transitions between cars are made by "accordion" without the transition doors, and meanwhile the passenger salons themselves are separated by transparent sliding doors equipped with photosensors, and therefore they open / close automatically.

With the passage of the entire composition, from the head to the tail, it is not necessary to exert physical efforts to open the doors. The airtightness of the exterior doors is designed in such a way that, at an outside temperature of -20⁰, the temperature inside the cabin is unchanged and comfortable throughout the composition.

In high-speed trains "Sapsan" the scheme of the car is thought out so that large hand luggage is located in a separate compartment, and small things fit well on the upper shelves.

Where to buy a ticket?

Now it may seem strange that it is quite possible to purchase a ticket not only in the station building, but also directly in the train itself.

As the scheme 6 car reflects, "Sapsan" is also equipped with a special place for people with disabilities. There is a special area for wheelchairs and a number of armchairs for the disabled. For convenience of such people the toilet is equipped with special handrails, and the entrance door to the car is designed for the dimensions of wheelchairs. In the same car there is a ticket office, and for moms with nursing children there is a small room with a changing table.

Entertainment system

For the convenience of passengers, the cars are equipped with special monitors, which display both advertising information about the train itself and entertainment programs. Passengers are equipped with individual disposable headphones, between the seats is a control panel. Using the buttons, you can select multiple radio channels or watch and listen to a video.

Depending on the type of car and the ticket price, along the way there is the possibility of connecting to the Internet services. In some wagons, this service is available at an additional cost.

Also, a passenger on the way can use periodic prints, which are in a special seat pocket.

In each car there is a scoreboard on which information on the air temperature and the current speed of the composition is displayed online.

Support of law and order on the way

On the ticket to this express train, a warning sign immediately appears in the eyes that smoking on the train is strictly prohibited. And it's no accident.

All cars, utility rooms and toilets are equipped with sensors that react even to the slightest smoke. Once the sensors work and catch signs of smoke, as the entire composition automatically slows down and stops the movement until the cause of the smoke is removed.

In the course of following the protection of law and order, a special attire of law enforcement forces is constantly observed, both in uniform and in civilian clothes.

In general, despite the difference in price compared to conventional trains, the Sapsan train is in great demand among passengers. If you compare the cost of a flight on an airplane in a budget class, the price may seem high.
