"Toyota Solara" - predatory aggression

"Toyota Solara" is almost the most popular and in demand car of the long model line of this Japanese carmaker. It was designed on the basis of another well-known representative of this noble auto family, the Camry sedan, as its sporty modification. The first thing that catches your eye in the new model, called the "Toyota Camry Solar" - is a completely new look, to which the engineers and designers of the company added savagery and aggression in the best traditions of the sporting style.

Another difference is the technical characteristics due to the sports characteristics of the car. This includes a high stiffness of the suspension, and improved handling, and engine power, which allows to develop a tremendous speed. In general, thanks to the efforts of Japanese automakers, the family-type sedan turned into a sports coupe, which was dictated by the needs of the market.

But the "Toyota Solara" was not produced on the Japanese islands. The first car of this model came off the assembly line at the car factory of Kentucky in 1994, immediately gaining the sympathy of many fans to ride "with the breeze." Ironically, in the Land of the Rising Sun, this two-door sports car was almost not exported. "Toyota Solara" is focused mainly on the American and European markets.

In total, two generations of this predatory-aggressive sports coupe were produced. Production of the second of them started in the spring of 2003. This was the first model of the Toyota, which was completely assembled in the United States by the hands of American and Canadian workers. And its assembly is carried out only at one car factory - in Georgetown. If you do not go deep into technical details and details, then Toyota Solara is not entirely a US-made car.

It is designed on the platform "Camry" with the transmission, engine and steering gear of Japanese manufacture. The whole process of development and release takes place in the United States. In other words, this car can be called a joint Japanese-American product, although earlier Toyota had preferred to develop all its models of autoconcerns on its own islands. Here there was some deviation from the traditional approach.

Special attention deserves the design of "Solar", which absorbed the best features of American and Japanese sports styles. The pronounced inclination of the body with smoothed streamlined forms of the base and a slightly understated front part for giving the car the best aerodynamic qualities; Shortened and rounded angular surfaces of the structure - all this created the most unique predatory and aggressive appearance. On the road this car is something subtly resembling a creeping beast.

The car interior is equipped with comfortable adjustable seats. The glasses are made of materials absorbing infrared radiation and ultraviolet, so that the cabin creates an excellent microclimate, which controls the air conditioning system. The car has a traditional four-position automatic transmission. Ventilated front brakes - like the rear ones - are disc type. This model is equipped with an independent suspension.

But "Solara" is not the only significant achievement of the auto concern "Toyota". For example, "Toyota Corolla 2010" is immortalized on the pages of the Guinness Book of Records as the best-selling car in the world.
