Tissue wallpapers for home

Tissue wallpaper is a roll material, which is designed for interior cosmetic decoration of the room. They have two layers, one of which is based on non-woven or paper. And the other is textiles.

The main purpose of such finishing materials is, of course, in decorating the premises. And their appearance will not leave indifferent even the most experienced aesthetes. But not only the decorative functions of fabric wallpaper are able to perform. They have excellent noise and thermal insulation properties. And some types of linen coverings can boast even antiseptic abilities.

The standard roll size is 0.53 x 10 m. However, some manufacturers can also make them on request with a width of 0.9 m, as well as any length. There are also seamless textile wall coverings. They are made of dense fabric. With their help, you can draw the entire perimeter of the room, as a result of which there will be only one single seam connection. Window and door openings in this case are cut after installation of the coating itself.

Installation of textile wall coverings can be made in two ways:

- By gluing. In this case, the surface on which the decorative coating is to be fixed should be cleaned and leveled. Adhesive for fabric wallpaper is the same as for paper. But use a more concentrated solution. This is due to the fact that such a coating is quite heavy.

- Stretching. This method avoids additional surface preparation work. That is, there is no need to clean the walls of old decorative coatings and their alignment. The wallpaper is simply stretched parallel to the wall on the guides.

The advantages of this finishing material are many. This is the thermal insulation, and sound insulation, and vapor permeability, and, of course, the aesthetic beauty that fabric wallpaper for walls. The photo of the rooms decorated with their help is a vivid confirmation. But they also have disadvantages. And the most important of them is susceptibility to easy contamination. If this happened, then in most cases, such fabric wallpaper is better to replace, since it is almost impossible to remove dirt. Therefore, to use them in premises with a high risk of contamination, such as a kitchen, a hallway or a nursery, is irrational. They are more suitable for bedrooms and offices.

Depending on the top layer used wallpaper can be:

- Linen;

- silk;

- felt;

- jute;

- velor;

- Jacquard.

As mentioned before, this type of decorative coating for walls is rather whimsical. This is expressed in the features of operation. In no case can they be washed or rubbed, as a result of which there will be spots that can not be removed. And this already means that the interior is spoiled. Only dry cleaning is suitable for them.

The cost of decorative coating is determined by several factors. First, it is the material used for the top layer. Secondly, the texture and color. Third, the environmental friendliness of the material. So, linen fabric wallpaper can be bought at a price of 350 rubles for each running meter, while the cost of velor can reach 9,000 rubles.
