History of the theater

Nemirovich-Danchenko "The price of life." The constant troupe at that time was not. Decorations and costumes were created and purchased with the proceeds from the sale of tickets. With self-sufficiency for state financing, the drama theater (Chelyabinsk) was translated in the 30s of the XX century. At the same time, a permanent troupe was formed.

In the 50s, the theater began an active tour. Artists took their performances in different cities of our vast homeland. Everywhere the performances were very successful.

In the sixties the troupe replenished with young talents.

From 1973 to 2003, the theater was headed by Naum Yurievich Orlov. He significantly expanded the repertoire. Thanks to him, the artists have mastered new genres and forms. Naum Yuryevich Orlov has created a strong troupe, able to cope with any creative tasks.

The building in which the Chelyabinsk drama lives today was built specifically for it in 1982. The project was created by city architects. And in 4 years, in 1986, the theater was awarded the title "Academic".

In the 90-ies. The troupe began to go on tour abroad and take an active part in festivals.

In 2003 the theater was named after Naum Orlov.

The year 2006 was a jubilee for the Chelyabinsk drama. The anniversary of the creation of the theater was celebrated brightly, festively and solemnly. In its jubilee year, the troupe presented five new productions to its audiences.

And today the theater continues to expand the repertoire, is in search of new plays and interesting modern playwrights. He invites to cooperation bright directors and artists.

Naum Orlov

Thirty years the main director and fifteen - the artistic director of the theater was Naum Yurievich Orlov. He is an outstanding person who has done a lot for the company. He came to drama theater (Chelyabinsk) in 1973 as chief director. And in 1987 he became a hudrok. He served in the Chelyabinsk drama until his death. During the years of work, Naum Yuryevich created and raised a highly professional troupe. His performances were distinguished by the highest level and impeccable taste. Naum Yurievich was an adherent of the traditions of classical Russian psychological theater. In the Chelyabinsk Theater, he created 45 productions. For numerous achievements N. Orlov was awarded state awards.
