The Teaching of Karma Kagyu

On September 10, the buddhist center "Karma Kagyu" (Moscow) was opened in the basement on Petrovsky Boulevard.

Ole Nydahl - spiritual guide of the Slavic Buddhists

Having barely completed the renovation of the premises, the Moscow Buddhists are already making plans for expansion. Additional territory will be required for the creation of a cultural center and an art exhibition.

The doctrine of spiritual values, which is supported by the Buddhism of the diamond path "Karma Kagyu", became accessible to the world community thanks to the 72-year-old Ole Nydahl (Denmark), the famous spiritual mentor of the Buddhist school of the same name. During his recent visit to Russia Nidal appealed to local Buddhists to help create the first Buddhist meditative center in Moscow.

The helpless ones are angry

Touching upon the importance of meditations, the western guest did not fail to note that "the mind can know itself only by being alone" and stressed the importance of investing in this sphere (the development of the mind), because it is everything that a person can take with him, Leaving this world, "explained the lama.

The spiritual mentor of the Karma Kagyu school urged local Buddhists to regard the sense of anger as an indicator of helplessness and to get rid of it in every way, devoting time to the development of awareness, fearlessness and compassion.

Lectures by Ole Nydahl were attended by more than 3 thousand people, most of whom are young and middle-aged people. The questions addressed to the lecturer mainly concerned methods of self-improvement and suppression of harmful feelings, such as, for example, anger.

Sharing with the audience some tricks of getting rid of him, Ole Nydahl advised the audience to consider this feeling as an unnecessary thing that can not be sold, so it only remains to throw it away.

Fundamentals of the Teaching "Karma Kagyu"

Also, the Buddhist mentor advised those who had come to the lecture not to be angry with a bad person, but to try to arouse a feeling of compassion towards him: he was not able to part with his vices and had to tolerate them 24 hours a day. Does he not deserve compassion? According to Nidal, anger is nothing more than the loss of the presence of the spirit. That's why the person, residing in anger, reminds an idiot.

A lot of time the lama gave explanations concerning the understanding of his "I". According to the teachings of Karma Kagyu, the "I" of each person should not be identified with thoughts and feelings, and even more so with a physical body, since the phenomena just listed are transient. A lecturer called consciousness a mirror reflecting transitory things and assured those present that, feeling himself a conscious being, a person gets fearlessness.

Ole Nydahl also noted that people who have achieved fearlessness soon experience feelings of abundance, joy, compassion for all living creatures and a desire to do everything possible that is necessary for the good of others.

As part of the lecture on the Karma Kagyu teachings, Nidal told the audience that space, according to his convictions, is an information field that exists outside of time, and this fact has already been proved by American scientists.

On the work of Western researchers, the lecture became known to the visitors of the lecture: during the experiments the Buddha's philosophy was confirmed, which repeatedly told his followers: "form is emptiness, and emptiness is a form."

Every being is a potential Buddha

During the meeting, the lecturer reminded the audience that every being is a potential Buddha, since everything that is necessary is already inside everyone, and advised more to trust his critical mind, not forgetting the existence of a law of cause and effect.

When the conversation touched work with expectations, the instructor of the Buddhist school "Karma Kagyu" recommended a technique, the essence of which is not to wish evil to anyone, to think only of the positive aspects of life and to act so that all living beings are not offended. What good wishes for the welfare of others is more global, the sooner the expectations will be fulfilled.

The lecturer advised the audience to abandon negative attacks against their neighbors, as criticism makes people sad. "... if you praise people for what they do not do, and should, then they gradually begin to identify with it," - concluded Ole Nydahl.

The Buddhist guru recommended that followers of the Buddhist tradition and future students of the Karma Kagyu school (Moscow) remember that anger is an indicator of helplessness and make every effort to turn anger into sympathy, mixed with the desire to help others.
