The main idea of the screenplay about the detective, revealing crimes with the help of a rare sense of smell, came to the Ukrainian director Artem Litvinenko for a long time. And as the protagonist acquired character traits, his habits and way of life, the "Sniff" (the actors who played the main roles deserve special attention) gained his storyline. Despite the fact that the eight-part film is eight independent detective stories, they are all connected among themselves by the main characters with their problems and relationships.

So, a certain European city (it is worth noting that, despite hints in the dialogues and Moscow numbers of cars, the film was completely filmed in Kiev and the region). The apartment, equipped with the latest technology, is inhabited by a peculiar person with a rare gift - he is able to recognize thousands of smells. He knows how the money smells, what a man ate for breakfast, and even can recognize a fake painting by the great Russian painter (he sensed the component on the basis of which the paint was created and, accordingly, could not be used by the artist). In his apartment, he also equipped himself with a laboratory, where, among other things, in a special test tube there is a collection of odors that he collected himself.

Friend and assistant

Every talent has its price. He was paid by the hero of the series "The Sniff" (actors and roles will be considered a little later) - he leads a lonely, almost ascetic life. With his wife is a divorce, and with his son can not establish contact. Arriving at the crime scene, he meets there whispering of employees behind him, which can also be attributed to his talent.

Despite problems with others, he has a friend - a lieutenant colonel (and a little later a colonel) of the Special Investigation Bureau, with which they uncover crimes. And despite the sometimes rather rude treatment, he is always ready to help his talented comrade.

There is one factor that explains so unexpected success of the film "Sniff" - the actors obviously enjoyed participating in the shootings, which, of course, positively affected the popularity of the film. The series became the most popular both in Ukraine and in Russia (having beaten all the ratings over the past five years). And the success of this television product abroad has become so high that the rights to adapt it have been bought by France and Japan (The Land of the Rising Sun is going to release its version by 2016). This success was not expected even by the creators themselves. The Ukrainian company "Film UA" started work on the project at its own peril and risk, without having an order and financing of any channel. However, even before the premiere of the first season of the series, in the process of completing the work, it was already clear that it would be something worthwhile. Therefore, work on the script continued even then.

"Sniff". 2 season

The actors performing the main roles remained the same, but new characters appeared. But if the series of the first season were independent affairs and nothing other than the common life of the heroes, they are not united among themselves, they have already acquired a common plot line in the continuation. And all the cases disclosed are links in one chain. Now our collector of smells has an opponent who will have to resist during the new eight series.

To the crew of the second season of the film "Sniff" (the actors were very happy to join the crew again), director Artyom Litvinenko attracted a new cameraman, and with a worldwide name - Graham Freyk. In addition, the mini-series has more special effects and complex tricks, which actors in most cases performed independently, which raised the second season to a higher level. Kirill Kyaro (Nyuhach) - a native of Tallinn (Estonia). After graduating from high school in 1992 he entered the Theater School. Shchukin, and at the end became a member of the troupe of the theater under the direction of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan. Then he worked at the Russian Theater of Estonia. In 2005 he was engaged in the theater "Practice". He gained wider popularity after the role of Slavik in the television series "Liquidation". On the main role in the film "Sniff" (the actors for the series were selected at once) came right away, from the first test. According to Kirill himself, the most difficult was to use chemical terms. Also, especially for filming, he had to urgently take extreme driving courses.

Ivan Oganesyan (Victor, a friend of Nyuhach) at the very beginning entered the music faculty, at the acting course of the director's faculty (GITIS). On October 23, 2002 he took part in the musical "Nord-Ost" and together with other participants of the tragic events was taken hostage by terrorists. In "Sniff" he played a partner and a loyal friend of the protagonist. The character of Ivan, Victor, has a good command of martial arts and is a great admirer of female beauty. For the role in "Nyuhache" Ivan Oganesyan had to master the Japanese art of hand-to-hand fighting jiu-jitsu.

Maria Anikanova (Julia, the former wife of the protagonist) - Honored Artist of Russia. Up to 16 years old she was engaged in skating, and her coaches were Tatyana Tarasova, Samvel Gazalyan, Gennady Akkerman. After graduating in 1995, the Theater School named after Shchukin began to work in the Moscow theater "Contemporary" (where he serves to this day).

Nina Gogaeva (Tatiana Voskresenskaya, the lady of the heart of Nyukh) is an actress of theater, cinema and variety art. Since the childhood I was engaged in a vocal. At school she took part in theatrical productions. After school I entered the Theater Institute named after Boris Shchukin, and after graduation I was admitted to the Moscow Art Theater. As a character Tatyana (in "Sniff") becomes the lover of the protagonist and after some communication answers him in return. However, their relationship is being seriously tested.

Nikolay Chindyaykin (Major-General Bondarev, head of the SBR) is a People's Artist of Russia, a teacher and theater director. A native of the Urensky district of the Gorky region. Between 1959 and 1964 he lived with his family in the Ukraine. After the school he is recruited by the Rostov Theater for Young Spectators, and afterwards - by the Omsk Drama Theater. In 1987, after graduating from the directing department (GITIS), he began work as a director, teacher and actor (Anatoly Vasilyev's School of dramatic art). In "Nyuhach" played the wise and fair direct commander of Victor.

Agne Grudite (Irina Nordin, forensic expert of the highest category) is a Lithuanian actress (Siauliai). After the university I got the specialty "variety art".
