The printer prints blank sheets: causes and solutions

It prints the printer, prints it and suddenly starts to issue blank sheets at one "perfect" moment. No one understands what happened, what is the reason and what to do. The failure of the device to perform its functions can be caused by various reasons. So, why does the printer print blank sheets?

User scatter

Often it is their own inattention that causes the printer to print blank sheets.

  • If white paper jumps through 1-2 pages, then you need to double check the correctness of the document. Maybe there are extra page breaks, blank lines, sheets, etc.
  • When you install the cartridge, the protective film is not removed . It does not allow the ink to be sprayed onto the sheet.
  • Incorrect or loose connection of the cable. You need to check yourself, pinch the wire in the sockets, so that the contact is complete. It is possible that the wrong cable is used.
  • Often in offices where you need to print a large amount of documentation, different types of paper are used. Some printers refuse to print if inappropriate sheets are used.

Problems with the cartridge

If the printer prints blank sheets, in some cases the cause is full ink or toner consumption. However, before this print will become more pale, go bands, etc. So the user usually learns about ink consumption in advance. In this case, the problem is solved simply by replacing the cartridge or refilling it. In the case of a laser device, you can shake the cartridge so that the toner is evenly distributed.

Inkjet printers are characterized by another problem: clogged nozzles through which paint is sprayed. If the device has long been idle, then you need to start the cleaning system before printing.

Also in the ink cartridge, the paint can simply dry out. In this case, it is sufficient to replace it.

A very common problem is the failure of the print head. In this case, you need to carry the device to the service.

Problems with the printer

The simplest reason is that the printer is "tired". Printheads operate at high temperatures, so it is possible that the device simply overheated, which was the cause of the failure. If you give the device a rest, then in a few hours it will come back to normal.

The photoconductor may break. There is often a problem with contacts. If they are damaged, the image is not transferred from the laser unit.

One of the common reasons why HP printer prints blank sheets is the breakage of the magnetic shaft. It stops rotating, and the image is not transferred to paper.

If the laser unit does not work, the image on the photoconductor drum does not arrive. If there is no drawing on the latter, the printer prints blank sheets.

The failure of the high-voltage block leads to the fact that no charges are created, therefore, there are no "carriers" of the image.

In any of these cases, there is only one way out - contact the service and replace the relevant parts.

Software crash

First you need to check the printer settings. They can be viewed in the corresponding menu section. Or make it even easier: print a test page. In this case, all settings are reset. If nothing happened, then the problem may be the drivers. They can be reinstalled or updated.

It is possible that the printer prints blank sheets because of incompatibility with the operating system. This usually happens when using older machines.

Another option - a virus, an antivirus or other software blocks printing. It happens. Also, a disconnected firewall may cause problems.

The most common problem is a damaged print file. In this case, you just need to re-save it and send it to the printer from another document.
