Not so long ago a novelty came from the Izhevsk Arms Factory - the pistol "Baikal", which is an exact copy of the combat PM. This sample has increased power, there is a corresponding logo in the form of a star on the handle, as well as an updated assembly in the export version. This weapon consists of the main unit (air cylinder, valve, magazine) and additional elements - packaging or holster.

History of creation

The pistol "Baikal MR-654K" is an accurate pneumatic copy of a similar combat unit. The release of the gas-cylinder modification began in 1997. Since the state orders for the supply of pistols significantly reduced, Izhevsk gunsmiths were forced to organize the manufacture of pneumatics, which at that time was in great demand.

During the production, the pistol "Baikal" was constantly improved and acquired several original modifications, which differ externally and constructively. The product is a handy aid for beginner shooters, due to its simplicity and convenience. The exterior of the gun, the reliability, the worthy quality of the mechanisms in the traditions of combat PM contributed to its popularity among amateurs and masters who can enjoy dynamic shooting.

Appearance

In the production of a pneumatic gun, spare parts from a combat analog are used. This solution makes the gas-cylinder version as recognizable as possible and similar to the military prototype.

The trunk in the muzzle is slightly cut, which gives the weapon a solidity and similarity to the popular caliber of 9 millimeters. The recognizable feature, which has a pneumatic gun "Baikal" (photo below), is a lining on the handle. And in some models it also has a five-pointed star.

Realism and similarity with the military analogue of the gas-cylinder model is attached to a masterfully made copy of the release button of the clip. In addition, the guns are provided with blown shutter holders. The modified unit is made of combat steel, and is in demand now.

Despite the similarity with combat weapons, the pneumatic model has certain design differences. The trigger is identical to the original, but does not have a striker. For the functioning of the modification in question, balloons of 8 and 12 grams are used. The sleeve is designed for ball bullets, the mass of the pistol without carbon dioxide tank and charge is 0.73 kg.

Equipment

The store, the valve unit and the can in the model under consideration are formed into a single working unit. The clip is placed in the handle, as in the combat version. The cuts in the channel of the trunk are polygonal, the mechanism allows firing both in self-cocking mode and with preliminary preparation. In the first case, the force on the descent rises by a factor of two.

A flap guard on the gate allows you to secure the owner when using the weapon. The pneumatic pistol "Baikal MR-654K", the characteristics of which are as close as possible to the combat version, is equipped with a valve unit that controls the gas supply, containing a device for holding the balloon and puncturing it.

To use tanks with a capacity of 8 grams, you will need to install a special adapter. Correction of a static fly and a head is not provided, as well as a base for mounting additional optics. Multiple-charge weapons are provided by the spring feeder, located in the store. Such a design is not designed for soft lead charges susceptible to deformation. Ignoring this point can lead to the jamming of the gun and the occurrence of a hazardous situation.

Features of operation

The pneumatic gun "Baikal", the photo of which is placed above, is operated as follows:

1. The magazine contains a tucked clip and a gas cylinder is screwed into it. Then the fuse is removed.
2. Moving with a loaded weapon is undesirable. Targets and other equipment is prepared in advance.
3. Transport of pneumatics is performed in a discharged state with a unscrewed cylinder and an empty magazine.

The product from Izhevsk gunsmiths, like any other mechanism, requires prevention and minor repairs. Most often this is due to the replacement of gaskets and worn out springs. Seals must be carefully removed from the landing nests, not allowing their deformation and depressurization. To eliminate the leakage of gas, you can use silicone oil, which does not destroy the polymer.

To replace the return spring, you will have to partially disassemble the weapon, and to manipulate the supply element of the store you will need to completely disassemble it.

Care and maintenance

To lubricate the mechanisms, the "Baikal" gun will need to be partially disassembled. This is done as follows:

• The store is disconnected;
• The trigger is retracted to the left and down;
• The shutter must be pushed to the stop;
• From the rear, it rises, but in the front it detaches;
• Dismantling of the shutter is carried out through the barrel line;
• The return spring is retracted.

Full disassembly is recommended only if necessary (excessive contamination or wetting of the gun). After preparation, all parts of the gun are wiped with an oiled rag, and rubbing elements are lubricated with gun lubricant. Small mechanisms are cleaned with a toothbrush, and the stem part is a steel ramrod with a polymer coating.

Advantages

The gun in question has several advantages. Among them we can distinguish the following:

• As close as possible imitation of military weapons;
• Simplicity, reliability and safety of the structure;
• High-quality materials, high rate of fire, multiply-charged;
• Ergonomics, basic maintenance and the ability to conduct firing without having special skills.

Has this gun and certain drawbacks. The rifled barrel is not very suitable for shooting steel balls. In addition, users note a not very high accuracy and a weak dispenser system. Also on this modification there is no possibility of installing additional optics.
