The Peacemaker is the Messenger of Peace

At all times people fought. Armed conflicts have been and continue to occur. The power-holders share territory, wealth, face religious disagreements.

But in all cases, when the war is played out, ordinary civilians suffer. Therefore, people try to extinguish the conflict, not letting big trouble break out. This is done by peacekeepers

A bit of history

It is interesting that the very first peacekeeper was called Emperor Alexander III. He did everything he could from the state and its people to live in peace, peace and quiet.

Russia, before his reign has experienced many wars. Alexander III wanted the country to recover, gain strength and become stronger. After all, so many were destroyed, many families lost breadwinners in endless wars.

It is interesting that all decrees connected with the borders and their strengthening were signed only through agreements with the leaders of other countries. All that the emperor did was for peace and quiet only. For this he was called a peacemaker.

Peacemaker - who is this?

Already by the very word you can understand that the peacemaker is "the world creating." Their main goal and goal is to stop the bloodshed and stop the war. They can not take sides, but they are entitled to defend themselves, if they are attacked, even by opening fire.

A peacekeeper is a military man, serving, as a rule, under contract, and contributing to the establishment and restoration of peaceful relations.

A person who decided to become a "peace envoy" must have certain qualities of character, because at times one must forget about one's own desires, one's own opinion and accept and understand both warring parties. And sometimes it happens that you have to give your life for a just cause.

The qualities needed for a peacekeeper

A person who has decided to follow the path of peace and good must have a number of human qualities.

The applicant requires altruistic traits and charity. In addition, the military peacekeeper is simply obliged to show tolerance and cheerfulness.

A peacemaker is a military, but carrying peace and good. Not destructive, but carrying restoration and unification of the warring sides.

Peacemaker - for peace and a bloodless solution to the conflict.

When there was peacekeeping

For the first time the very concept of "peacemaking" arose in connection with the UN decree, in the distant postwar 1945. The UN itself was created with the goal of maintaining "peace throughout the world". There, any country can raise the issue of conflicts and threats from threatening nations.

Heads of warring states have the opportunity, in a personal meeting in the presence of intermediaries, to discuss all misunderstandings and reach a peaceful solution.

If most of the participating countries are against the conflict, then this will have an effect, and the problem, as a rule, is solved peacefully.

The very first operation, when the introduction of peacekeepers was required, occurred in 1956 with the conflict in Palestine. The peacekeepers could not interfere, they observed on the border and reported all the actions of the parties to the Security Council.

The UN has already decided how to proceed, so that the parties comply with the set conditions, and what to do to stop the hostilities.

The main activities of UN peacekeepers

  1. A lot of work for peacekeepers after the extinction of conflicts. After all, the war is mines, unexploded ordnance, weapons. All this must be defused, destroyed, and help people enter into a peaceful life. This is a very important part of their mission, because how often, after the war, people are being blown up on mines, or children find weapons, shells.
  2. The UN Peacekeeping Organization calls for the complete completion of the production of mines. And also calls to completely abandon their use and export to other countries.
  3. Agreements have been concluded on a complete ban on testing, wherever, nuclear weapons, and areas where such weapons are completely prohibited are expanding.
  4. Suppression of arms trade. Particular care for children, because during the war so often children die, undermined by mines, they are shot in the course of local showdowns or random shootings.

Peacekeeping operations

To limit and settle the conflict, peacekeeping troops are being introduced. They, like in the ordinary conflict, are a kind of third party, capable of helping to come to an all-suiting opinion.

The military helps, if necessary, ensure the safety of the choice of the head of state and neutralizes mines and other weapons.

If peacekeeping peacekeepers support peace in the warring lands, then the UN mediators appoint meetings with the leaders of the conflicting countries and try to find a solution.

There are two types of peacekeeping operations:

1. A peacemaker is an observer. He is unarmed and is only called upon to observe the situation, reporting the results.

2. A peacemaker is a serviceman, he can have weapons, but it is used only in the most extreme cases and for self-defense.

Blue helmets are a distinctive feature of the peacekeepers. They are dressed in any operation, so that everyone can see who it is. Peacekeepers, whose photos are presented below, have a special emblem that distinguishes their belonging to "peaceful soldiers".
