Flicker in the eyes

There is no such person, who has never had a flicker in his eyes. If this happens rarely, there is no reason to call a doctor. If the flickering in the eyes disturbs you often, you should sound the alarm. This may be the first bell of an impending disease. Why do "gnats" appear in the eyes? This may be evidence of increased or low blood pressure, avitaminosis, cerebral blood flow disorders, etc. Darkening in the eyes and "flying midges" - this can happen after a traumatized eye or craniocerebral trauma.

From time to time, flickering in the eyes can occur with neuropsychological, emotional and physical overloads, sudden body movements, and strain on the organs of vision. The same signs can be found among smokers and alcohol abusers. If the glare in the eyes is seldom disturbed and when they appear quickly, there's nothing wrong with that.

Frequent appearance of flies before the eyes can indicate the approaching hemorrhage or rupture of the retina. And if suddenly everything blurs before you, sudden flashes and stagnant spots appear to interfere with your eyes, immediately go to a specialist, since these are the first signs of detachment of the retina. This detachment of the eye retina can lead to complete blindness of the person. Symptoms of such a disease can also be a narrowing of the vision, "black flakes" or "swarm of midges" before the eyes.

Flicker in the eyes can be caused by osteochondrosis of the cervical spine. If the natural blood flow is disturbed in the arteries of the spine, the normal supply of oxygen to the brain is interrupted, which leads to glare and poor eyesight.

Moss in the eyes are possible for severe poisoning, when toxins in the defeat of the nervous system affect the optic nerve.

Flicker before the eyes appears with decompensated diabetes mellitus, which signals a worsening situation, when not only the brain vessels, but also the eye retina are affected.

Acute internal bleeding can also lead to the appearance of flies in front of the eyes, and this may be the only sign of such bleeding.

If a person develops anemia, the level of red blood cells and hemoglobin decreases sharply. Because of such an acute decrease in the amount of blood in the body, oxygen deficiency is formed and metabolism is disrupted in the cellulose. With anemia in humans, flickering in the eyes becomes almost continuous and leads to a weakening of vision.

Among other diseases, the symptom of which may be flickering in the eyes, is uveitis, an inflammatory process in which white blood cells are extracted from the vasculature of the ciliary body, eyes or iris tissues. Also causes glare in the eyes of increased intracranial pressure, pinching of the vessels of the cervical region and even migraine.

With a large overvoltage of blood vessels in a person there is a violation of blood exchange between the capillaries and tissues. As a result, a hypertensive crisis is attacked on a person. One of his symptoms is flickering and midges before the eyes, because the retina of the eye is extremely sensitive to the increased pressure in the vessels.

If a person has hypotension, this can also lead to flashing of dots in front of the eyes. Vessels are not enough and do not fill up with blood in a timely manner, this lowers blood pressure to a critical level, which in turn leads to various visual impairments: darkening of the eyes, glare, narrowing of the vision, a floating spot in the eyes, etc.

In pregnancy, the appearance of flicker in the eyes may indicate the development of eclampsia - a condition that is extremely dangerous for a pregnant woman and her child.

For all of the above signs, you should contact your ophthalmologist for a thorough examination and appropriate treatment.

If the frequency of occurrence of midges in the eyes is rare (state after sleep, a flash of bright light, etc.), do not worry. You are healthy!
