Plot

The employee poses as a student, who came to work on a fishing boat as a sailor. Varaksin settles in the hotel room where the deceased lived. The hero gets acquainted with people who are more or less connected with Yushkov.

He checks the involvement of suspects in the crime, without revealing himself. Having worked out a number of false versions, the officer exposes the provocateur. The criminal after the war began to live in these parts and worked as a bus driver.

At the bus station he was identified by Yushkov, who came to the city to rest. The centaur manages to get red-handed when he tries to kill a witness in the same gateway. The hero incidentally reveals a gang of speculators and plunderers.
