"The Keeper of Time": the actors of the film, the plot, the facts

In 2011, the premiere of a new film by Martin Scorsese, entitled "The Guardian of Time". It is worth noting that for the cult director it was the first family full-length fairy tale, which he shot in 3D.

Plot

The capital of France, the thirties of the last century. Twelve-year-old Hugo Cabra is forced to live at the station with his uncle. A teenager is an orphan, so most often he is left to himself. From an early age, the boy was fascinated with mechanics, and one day he seems to be able to fix the mechanism that he got from his father. Eliminating the malfunction, the young man hopes to open some secret of his father, who died in a fire in the museum. Several years have passed since that time. His mother did not know his mother (the woman died during childbirth).

Meanwhile, it turns out that the mechanism inherited by him was created by one of the founders of the cinema Georges Méliès. Having got down to business, the boy gets into the fascinating world full of adventures, and his true companion in labyrinths of dangers and riddles becomes girlfriend Isabella.

Performers of roles

Many leading critics noted how brilliantly the cast of the film was selected. One of the leading roles went to a young actor named Ace Butterfield. The thirteen-year-old actor was already well-known to the audience. He starred in the movie "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" before being invited to the fantasy "The Guardian of Time". In this film, as in many others, blunders and historical inaccuracies were noticed, which generally do not spoil the general impression of the family detective story, shot by the famous director. For example, according to the plot of the project "The Guardian of Time", the actors played the scene according to which Meles did not buy a camera projector from the Lumiere brothers, created her analog in his own studio. In fact, he was not a skilled mechanic and acquired the right camera in the UK.

The hero, played by Ace Butterfield, had a dream, according to which he saw a key in the form of a heart on the rails. It is remarkable that when Hugo looks at his find, it lies near the sleepers, but when he bends down to pick it up, the key is already on the sleeper itself.

Undoubtedly, many viewers remember the moment of the train crash, shown in the picture "The Guardian of Time". Actors very plausibly played in the mentioned scene, and in fact this tragedy is not a fiction writer or writer. In October 1895, a similar incident occurred at the station in Paris.
