Martin was to become a priest, but disagreeing with the decision of his relatives, he dropped out of school in the parish school and entered the College of Science and Arts in New York, where in 1964 he received a bachelor's degree. After that the future director decided to serve in the army and only after it returned to school, in 1966 entered the University of New York.

First works
