The history of Russian chocolate, or Who produces chocolate "Alenka"

This brand of chocolate is loved even by modern spoiled children, and in former times "Alenka" was the best gift for any Soviet child. Often we ask ourselves, but who produces chocolate "Alenka"? Here we will discuss this in detail.

From the history

In the sixties the government of the country adopted a new food program. One of its items sounded like "the development of new chocolate." Make this idea real must have been the best confectioners of the country. From the one who produces chocolate "Alenka" (or will produce), they expected that the new confectionery product would be tasty, inexpensive, and most importantly - dairy. This was explained by the fact that in the Soviet Union they produced mostly bitter chocolate, which the children did not like too much. This was due to the fact that the country had a shortage of dried milk, but the development of livestock raised this problem.

The recipe for a new product was developed at several confectionery factories. At first the experiments were not very successful. If a lot of milk was added, the tiles were not molded, if not enough, it was not very tasty. In 1966, at the factory "Red October" the correct proportion of ingredients was selected. Finally, the formulation was approved a year later. It included cocoa butter, sugar powder, grated cocoa, dry cream, vanilla essence, milk powder, diluent. The fat content of chocolate was 37.3 percent. Thus, we found out that the chocolate producer "Alenka" is the "Krasny Oktyabr" factory. She is it to this day.

The person from the cover

Initially on the wrapper was supposed to be Alenushka with a picture of Vasnetsov. It was she who gave the name to the new delicacy. But it turned out that Alenushka was already on the label of another factory. It did not last long, because party officials did not like it. They felt that a negative association might arise: childhood is happy, and the girl is barefoot. Finally they decided not to give up the name, but only changed it, now the confectionery product began to be called "Alenushka" rather than "Alenka". People did not know about these intrigues and believed that chocolate was named after the daughter of Valentina Tereshkova. Other people this The romantic version is supported in that part, as to a daughter, only in their opinion so named the child of George Gagarin.

Both astronauts had little Lenochka. This is not surprising: in those years this popular name was worn by every tenth girl. Before those who produce chocolate "Alenka", there was a task - to pick up a face that everyone will like. A familiar little-eyed little girl in a kerchief appeared not at once. First, they decorated the label with painted little girls and older ladies. The decoration was thematic: at the delicacy released to the new year, the Snow Maiden flaunted, on May Day samples - a girl with carnations hurried to a demonstration. The newspaper published information about holding a contest for the best photo of the girl. The picture of the photojournalist Gerinas, on which his daughter was depicted, also won Lena. The painter Maslov created an image from the photo that has been on the label for many years. The girl became blue-eyed, with more puffy lips and an elongated oval face.

How much is the chocolate "Alenka"
