The guide dog is a real friend and helper

It is difficult to live in the world a person who does not see the world around him. It's difficult not only because you do not see it, but rather because you can not even navigate in this world: move around yourself, go for a walk, see a doctor or go shopping. In this case, many help the guide dog.

She replaces them with relatives, becomes a real family member and a loyal friend. And not even just a friend, and often a reliable defender, and a voluntary assistant. Dogs are used in different spheres, but the work of a guide from all "dog professions" is one of the most responsible and most popular.

The guide dog is a reliable and reliable companion for visually impaired and blind people, giving them the opportunity to do without outside help and move freely outside the house. Most often in the role of guides are various breeds of dogs, for example, Rottweilers or Collies. But most of all German shepherds and labradors are in demand.

Not every dog is suitable as an assistant. It should have a smooth, calm and non-aggressive character. She is taught not to react to other "relatives", cats and other irritants, not to be afraid of transport, sharp sounds and surrounding people.

Prepare guides in special schools. The learning process is very long, time-consuming and complex. For starters, small puppies are selected, which can later become good conductors for blind people. Of all the two-month-old babies offered by dog breeders, cynologists select several, study their reaction, their behavior in various situations. Then the selected puppies "learn" the general training course. And only after ten months they already begin training under a special program.

The future guide dog learns to memorize the routes, which will walk with the owner, navigate in space. It should be able to warn the owner in time about the obstacle that occurs on the road - a curb, a ladder, a step or a large puddle. In this case, the dog simply stops, giving the owner to study the obstacle on the way with the help of a cane. She continues her way only on command.

If, on the path of a disabled person and the dog, there is an obstacle that blocks the road, then the dog, without stopping, takes the host away and bypasses the obstacle along with it.

In the case when a blind person is almost not oriented on the terrain and can get lost, the dog is taught to memorize the road, find the right house or door.

Among other things, a guide dog is a support and support for a blind person, his faithful and sensitive friend. Often she supports him psychologically, gives self-confidence and her strength, allows not to depend constantly on others.

The dog will be a good guide, if a man and an animal find a common language, will understand each other halfway and cooperate perfectly. An animal can not completely replace an invalid with eyes and rid it of the need to navigate the world, but it will make its existence comfortable and simpler.

The training at the guide's school is completed by training the dog to work in tandem with the host. During this period a person lives for a while at school, so that the dog and he are used to each other. A disabled person must learn to control an animal with the help of a voice, understand a dog, learn the most necessary commands. Next to them are experienced cynologists at this time who will help, prompt and see that the person and the animal do not make mistakes.
