The film "Teleport": actors, roles, subject and reviews

In 2008, a sci-fi film "Teleport" was released on the screens of cinemas. The actors in it played quite well-known, but the interest in the picture was most likely due to the fact that the director directed such Hollywood hits as "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" and "Bourne Identification". Who played in the next movie Doug Lymon and how did they meet the film criticism?

Teleport: a short story

The scenario of "Teleport" was created on the basis of the novel of the same name in America, the novel by Stephen Gould. The actors of the movie "Teleport" were to tell the viewer a typical fantastic story about how a loser guy from an unfavorable area wakes up one morning and realizes that he is special. In this case, a David Rice performed by Hayden Christensen finds that he is able to teleport to anywhere in the world, as he wishes.

Rice's life is changing rapidly: first he goes on a journey around the world, and then finds a way to get himself money with teleportation. However, the gift of David Rice - a hindrance to the "bad" guys. The paladins' society prefers to get rid of people like Rice, so the guy will soon be hunting.

The film was commercially successful: with a budget of 85 million dollars, the creators of the picture managed to earn 224 million at the box office.

The creators of the movie "Teleport"

The film was released under the auspices of the film company 20 th Century Fox.

The film "Teleport", actors, roles, whose characters were so captivated by the audience, was shot by American director Doug Lyman. Doug is known to the public for the sensational thriller "Mr. and Mrs. Smith," as well as a series of films about the CIA agent Jason Born.

Simon Kinberg, who subsequently oversaw such well-known films as "X-Men: First Class", "Elysium: Paradise is not on Earth", "X-Men: Days of the Past", was the producer of the film.

The creation of the script based on the book by Stephen Gould was directed by David Goyer, who also wrote scripts for the projects "Raven-2: City of Angels", "Blade", "Batman: The Beginning".

Behind the camera was a well-known cameraman, whose films include "We are Millers" with Jennifer Aniston and "Exemplary Male" with Ben Stiller.

Unfortunately, when creating the picture "Teleport" there were many accidents. One of them ended in a lethal outcome: on the set in Toronto, one of the decorators was crushed by a block of descended soil. Also in the process of working on the film, multiple injuries received the main character - Hayden Christensen.

The film "Teleport": actors and roles. Hayden Christensen

Initially, Christensen did not have to take part in the project. In the movie "Teleport" the actors were carefully selected by the director himself - Doug Lymon, and he played the leading role to the British actor Tom Sturridge. However, the success of the picture largely determines the fame of the actor playing the protagonist, and Sturridge at the time did not play any more or less prominent role, so the producers demanded to find the role of David Rice more famous person. And Doug Lyman offered it to Hayden Christensen.

Hayden is known to many audiences for the role of Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: the actor played this character in the second and third episodes of starry cinema. The character of David Rice came to the guy's liking, but the shooting in the picture turned into an endless series of injuries: first he ripped his hand, then suffered a serious ear injury during the shooting of the fight with the character of Samuel L. Jackson. On this, Christensen's troubles did not end: after a while, Hayden significantly expanded one of the pupils as a result of the use of special eye drops, which had to be used before filming.

"Teleport": actors and roles. Jamie Bell

Jamie Bell, who also took part in the shooting of the film, is an English actor. He played in the film the role of Griffin - the antipode of the main character Jason. But these two characters are united by the fact that they are fighting against the same clan of paladins.

"Teleport", the actors in which the well-known were gathered, for Jamie Bell was the tenth film work. In 2000, the guy made his debut in the drama "Billy Eliot," and immediately in the title role. Then Jamie Bell together with Kristen Stewart played in the drama "Underwater Current" (the main role) and was awarded as the best "Young Actor".

In 2005, Jamie starred in the movie "King Kong" with such Hollywood celebrities as Naomi Watts and Adrien Brody. In 2015, the actor was very lucky: he received one of the main roles in the film "Fantastic Four", filmed by the film company Marvel. In a fantastic action movie, Bell appeared in the image of Ben Grimm.

Samuel L. Jackson as Roland

Samuel L. Jackson played the leader of the secret society of paladins in the movie "Teleport". Actors Samuel L. Jackson and Hayden Christensen met on the same stage for the third time. The first two times happened on the set of the second and third episodes of "Star Wars".

However, in "Teleport" characters Christensen and Jackson are on different sides of the barricade. The goal of Roland in the performance of a dark-skinned Hollywood actor is to destroy the character Hayden Christensen. According to the plot of the film, they often have to engage in battle.

During the break between the latest shootings of Star Wars and Teleport, Jackson managed to star in Quentin Tarantino in the film Kill Bill-2, as well as in the film SWAT Spetsnaz of the City of Angels. But his partner in the movie "Teleport" Christensen, unfortunately, did not get after the "Star Wars" in any popular film.

Rachel Bilson as Millie Harris

The role of the main character's girl in the picture could be performed by Rachel Wood ("Thirteen", "The Last Raid"). However, at the last moment it was Rachel Bilson who got into the movie "Teleport".

The main actor in the frame is, of course, Hayden Christensen. Rachel played the role of his girlfriend - Millie Harris, who constantly gets into dangerous situations and needs the help of her lover. In a word, a typical line for a fantastic action movie.

Filming in "Teleport" did not pass for the actress for nothing - as a result she became Christensen's wife and gave birth to his daughter. The actress can be seen in such films as "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", "How I Met Your Mother" and "Lonely Hearts".

Diane Lane as Mary Rice

Actress Diane Lane performed in the movie "Teleport" the role of the mother of the protagonist. Working with such a famous director as Doug Lyman had a good impact on Diane's career: first she got the lead role in the movie "Nights in Rodanthe", where she played along with Richard Gere, and in 2013 the actress made her way into the blockbuster "The Man of Steel ", Produced by Christopher Nolan.

Despite the fact that the actress celebrated her 50th birthday recently, her career has made a new turn. In 2016 will be the most anticipated premiere in recent years - the screens will be the movie "Batman vs. Superman", produced by Christopher Nolan, and directed by Zach Snyder ("300 Spartans"). In the new Hollywood hit, Diane got the role of Martha Kent.

As for Mrs. Lane's film career before "Teleport", she played the main roles in such films as "Killer", "Cruel People" and "Love for dogs is mandatory".

Kristen Stewart as Sophie

In the movie "Teleport" actors, heroes played by them, are interesting and attractive, especially for young people and teenagers. No wonder that Kristen Stewart, an actress who is the star of youth films, was invited to take part in the film. In "Teleport" she played Sophie - this is the role of the second plan.

The central role in the filmography of Stewart is the image of Bella from the vampire saga "Twilight". The girl began to appear in a series of films about vampires at the age of 18, and finished at age 22. After "Twilight" there were still worthy pictures - "Sils-Maria", "Ultra-Americans", but they were not very popular with the audience.

Reviews of critics and reviews

The main actors and roles of the movie "Teleport" were widely discussed by spectators and journalists after the world premiere. Comments on the new picture of Doug Lymon were diametrically opposed. Still, there were more positive assessments than negative ones.

In general, observers from different publications agree that "Teleport" is not the crown of intellectual cinema, but, rather, an entertainment project. Critics appreciated the geographical beauty that was shown in the film, because Doug Lymon even managed to agree on filming in the Roman Coliseum, where in principle the film crews are not allowed. Highly marked the game of the British Jamie Bell and questioned the acting skills of Hayden Christensen.

As for the audience, they also noted that Hayden Christensen has been "blown away, like a ball" since the days of the Star Wars in terms of acting. Particularly annoying moments in which, it would seem, the hero Christensen must have emotions to beat over the edge, and the actor instead looks around with an indifferent glance. But the character of Jamie Bella - Griffin - just fascinated the audience. Also, flattering reviews sounded in favor of special effects and a scene filmed in the walls of the Roman Colosseum.

More captious viewers have revealed a lot of flaws in the film. Many people say that the first twenty minutes of the film all seem to be developing logically, but with the advent of Samuel L. Jackson in the plot, some kind of chaos begins. The actors play looks tense, and the story develops contrary to all the laws of logic.

In a word, Teleport is a contradictory picture: some people are irritated, others are interested. Many filmmakers simply are not allowed to shoot science fiction, which is probably why Doug Lymon did not do it the way he planned. Read reviews for these films does not make sense: they just need to see at least once and make up everything they saw their opinion.
