Adapting the hero to a peaceful life is not easy. An official who must pay compensation to him requires a percentage. Cyrus first agrees, but then buys a saber, with which he goes to meet with the corrupt official. When he again demands a bribe, he kills him.

At night, he is hit by a car, reaching home, he sees the ghosts of his deceased brother-soldiers. They try to help him sort out a new life, only with them Cyrus feels well. However, ghosts condemn his actions, as a result of becoming his conscience.

In his home, he does not find a common language with either his parents or his beloved girl, who becomes a stranger to him.

He is intensively looking for the graves of his dead comrades. On the way to the cemetery he meets a young priest, who brings him up to the churchyard. At the burial site of friends, he finds a grave with his photograph, begins to worry, preventing the priest from praying for the peace. But he is adamant, even despite heavy rain. On the way back from the cemetery, the scene from the beginning of the picture repeats, when he gets under the car. This time, coming to, he meets all his friends. Together they go in an unknown direction, and Cyrus does not seem to notice that he has already stopped limping.

According to the director's idea, he died under the wheels of the car at the beginning of the picture. Having reunited with his comrades in the other world. All subsequent events are no more than his dying dreams.

The film "Alive", which received positive reviews, was shot by the Russian director Alexander Veledinsky in his own script.
