Nitroglycerin refers to nitrates, it is a vasodilating agent. The drug is used for diseases associated with the cardiovascular system.

Nitroglycerine. Form of issue

The drug is available for sublingual use in the form of drops, aerosols (dosed), capsules, sprays, tablets. In addition, Nitroglycerin ointment, films for gluing on the gum area, concentrate for manufacturing the infusion solution, capsules of prolonged (long-term) action are also produced.

The drug is indicated for angina pectoris (as prevention and treatment), myocardial infarction (during the rehabilitation period). Intravenous introduction of the drug "Nitroglycerin" instruction allows for swelling of the lungs, with occlusion of the central artery in the retina of the eye. In addition, injections are used for acute myocardial infarction (complicated by left ventricular insufficiency of acute course including), postinfarction and unstable angina, controlled hypotension during surgical interventions to reduce bleeding in the operating area.

Nitroglycerine. Dosing regimen

For cupping stenocardia sublingually (under the tongue) it is recommended to take one capsule or tablet. The drug is kept until complete resorption, without swallowing. The medication should be taken immediately after the onset of pain. Recommended for 0.5-1 mg per treatment. The next use of the tablet or capsule, if necessary, is carried out after thirty to forty minutes.

The dosage regimen of the ointment is selected by a specialist individually. If the therapeutic effect is insufficient, the amount of the drug used is increased under the supervision of the doctor. The initial dosage of the medicine is 2.5 cm of the ointment column.

The drug is not prescribed with the simultaneous use of sildenafil, as well as hypersensitivity.

Cautiously prescribed for any form of intracranial hypertension, hemorrhagic stroke, acute myocardial infarction with low pressure of left ventricular filling, severe anemia, glaucoma (due to the risk of increased intraocular pressure), thyrotoxicosis, chronic heart failure with low pressure of left ventricular filling, arterial hypotension at low Systolic pressure, severe hepatic, renal failure. Intravenous administration should be performed carefully to patients with CCI, constructive pericarditis, with cardiac tamponade, hypovolemia. Caution when prescribing the drug "Nitroglycerin" the instruction recommends to comply with and in patients under the age of eighteen, pregnant, lactating. Prolonged dosage forms are accurately prescribed with increased gastrointestinal peristalsis, malabsorption syndrome.

With the use of medication, headache, fever, dizziness, tachycardia, lowering blood pressure are possible. In rare cases (as a rule, with an overdose) there is cyanosis, orthostatic collapse.

Sometimes there may be anxiety, inhibition, psychotic reactions, disorientation, pruritus, rashes, contact dermatitis of allergic nature, flushing, burning.

Among other, relatively uncommon adverse reactions, when taking "Nitroglycerin", the instruction refers to a visual impairment (violation of clarity), hypothermia, weakness.

In case of an overdose, there is a decrease in blood pressure, drowsiness, headache, nausea, fever, vomiting, dyspnea. Therapy with intravenous injection - stop the injection, with transdermal (cutaneous) application - remove the patch or the remains of the ointment. At the patient's bed, the head end is lowered, the legs are raised. Pressure, as a rule, stabilizes within fifteen to twenty minutes.
