The drug "Furadonin" refers to the category of nitrofurans, is an antimicrobial drug. Its bactericidal and bacteriostatic effects are due to the ability to disrupt the permeability of the cell membrane and protein synthesis in bacteria. When using the drug "Furadonin" the instruction indicates its high effectiveness against microorganisms gram-positive and gram-negative. They include, in particular, streptococci, shigella, salmonella and others.

The drug is prescribed in the treatment of pathologies in the urinary tract of an infectious-inflammatory nature, the causative agents of which show sensitivity to the medication. These diseases include cystitis, pyelonephritis, urethritis, pyelitis. The medicine is also used as a preventive agent for urological interventions, cytoscopy, catheterization.

The medication is indicated for oral administration. To drink it is recommended by a liquid in a plenty.

For adults, the drug "Furadonin" instruction allows you to appoint 0.6 g per day, in the reception - 0.3 grams maximum. The therapeutic course on average continues from seven to ten days with urological infections of the acute course. Prophylactic and anti-relapse of the drug can last from three to twelve months (taking into account the nature of the pathology). In these cases, the dosage of the "Furadonin" medication is allowed in the amount of one to two milligrams per kilogram of the body weight of the patient.

Children prescribe the drug in a dosage of 5 to 8 mg / kg per day, the daily amount is divided into four doses.

Taking the drug can cause a rash, chills, arthralgia, Quincke's edema, nausea, asthenia, dizziness, vomiting. In some cases, shortness of breath, peripheral neuropathy, fever, drowsiness, pancreatitis, interstitial changes in lung tissue, bronchial obstructive syndrome, tenderness in the chest, hepatitis, cough, and pseudomembranous enterocolitis. Rare are such manifestations as diarrhea, erythema multiforme, abdominal pain.

Contraindicated in cirrhosis of the liver, acute porphyria, hypersensitivity to medication, chronic kidney failure, heart (second, third degrees), glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase.

Do not administer the drug to children up to one month.

At pregnancy the medicine is not appointed or nominated in the first 12 weeks of vynashivanija. During this period, the fetus is most sensitive to the effects of any medications.

During the following period, the expediency of its application is decided by a specialist. The medication is prescribed in medical practice only under condition of preliminary microbiological examination of urine. Thus, the causative agent of infection is detected and the sensitivity of the microorganism to preparations of antibacterial use is determined. If bacteria are insensitive to other less toxic medicines, the use of the drug "Furadonin" is possible.

Antibacterial effect of the drug reduces the concurrent antacids (containing magnesium trisilicate).

Incompatible means "Furadonin" with fluoroquinolones. Medications blocking the tubular secretion, reduce its antimicrobial effect by reducing the concentration in the urine of nitrofuratonin. However, these drugs increase the toxicity of the drug "Furadonin" (due to an increase in its content in the blood).

Overdosing manifests itself as vomiting. When eliminating the symptoms of the condition, dialysis is indicated, it is recommended that the fluid be taken in large quantities.
