The preparation "Exifin" (tablets) describes the instruction as a synthetic antifungal agent from a number of allylamines. Medication in low concentrations has a fungicidal effect against dermatophytes, molds and some dimorphic fungi. The agent "Exifin" is able to inhibit the biosynthesis of sterols in cells, this leads to a lack of ergosterol, necessary for the causative agents of the disease. As a result, Squalene accumulates inside the fungal cell, which leads to its death.

The drug "Exifin" has no effect on the metabolism of hormones or other medications.

Indications

The drug "Exifin" recommends the instruction for dermatomycosis (epidermophytosis of nail plates and skin, mycosporia, trichophytosis, rubromycosis). Medication is also indicated for candidiasis of mucous membranes and skin, mycotic lesions of the urogenital system, ENT organs.

The dosage form for oral administration is ineffective in case of pityriasis. With this disease, the drug "Exifin" (cream) is recommended for external use.

Dosage

Tablets "Exifin" instruction recommends adults at 250 mg per day. For children, the amount of the drug is calculated in accordance with the weight. Thus, patients with a body weight of less than twenty kilograms are recommended 62.2 mg / day, from twenty to forty kilograms - 125 mg / day, more than forty kilograms dosage for adults.

In clinical practice cases of the use of the drug "Exifin" in children younger than two years (with a body weight less than twelve kilograms) are not described.

The duration of application depends on the type of pathogen and the nature of the course of the disease. Thus, the treatment of interdigital form of mycoses and lesions of soles lasts from two to six weeks, cutaneous candidiasis, surrounding mycosis - twenty-four weeks. Complete elimination of signs of infection is usually observed after a few weeks.

The duration of onychomycosis treatment is in most cases from six weeks to three months. In the case of slow nail growth, longer therapy is likely. If after two weeks of treatment the patient does not experience any improvement, a microbiological diagnosis should be made.

Contraindications

Tablets "Exifin" instruction does not recommend taking patients to six years, during pregnancy and lactation, with hypersensitivity to the medication.

Adverse Reactions

The use of "Exifin" can cause a feeling of overflow of the stomach, skin rash, diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, anorexia. If allergic reactions are detected, the drug is canceled.
