Technological map in construction

The technological map in construction is a very important document. Its development is carried out every time for a certain type of construction work. The development of such a serious document assumes great responsibility and is mainly assigned to special scientific and design institutes that develop design and estimate documentation for a specific facility. A technological contract can also be developed by a contractor, carrying out the project and construction works. In addition, the design of such documents are engaged in factories and enterprises engaged in the production of construction products and materials.

The technological map in the construction contains the basic information about the main processes during the execution of construction work, as well as basic instructions for workers and personnel performing a certain construction or technological process or performing technical maintenance of a particular construction site. The map should show the main parameters of all operations with an indication of an accurate description of effective methods of construction and technological work. A list of tools, means of mechanization, various devices and other equipment that are most suitable for each type of work should be presented and will allow the construction of the facility to be carried out in the shortest possible time, at the minimum cost and with the maximum quality of construction.

Also, a technological map in construction must comply with all basic safety and labor protection requirements during the production of construction and technological works, and also meet all construction norms and rules in accordance with GOST and other normative documents.

The technological map in construction, basically, is of three kinds:

1. Typical technological maps, which are not associated with specific building objects and do not meet any construction conditions.
2. Typical technological maps, which are tied to specific construction projects, but do not take into account certain construction conditions.
3. Individually designed technological maps for certain objects, taking into account all the nuances and conditions of construction, as well as the location of the future building.

At present, technological maps already exist for almost all types of construction work. For example, a technological map for finishing works or a technological map for the roofing of one object can be designed by two different profile organizations. It can be both contracting firms that carry out the construction of the facility, and special construction research institutes.

In general, technological maps are used as training documentation for low-profile workers and personnel, and greatly enhances their skills and knowledge in the field of building and technological processes management. The area of distribution of technological cards has long exceeded the scope of the construction field and is used in many spheres of industry. The appearance of new types of work obliges skilled workers, masters or superintendents to know how to effectively perform work or manage the construction process, and sometimes it is simply impossible without a qualitatively prepared technological map for a certain type of work. This once again confirms that if an enterprise or a construction company wants to do construction work with high efficiency and with the right resources, it is impossible to do without a qualitatively developed technological map.
