Students from Palestine built a car on solar panels

Two students from the University of Al-Azhar, located in the center of the Gaza Strip, have changed the definition of energy restrictions that have plagued this territory for many years.

The Importance of Alternative Energy

Previously, electronic motors were not available to residents of this region. Nobody knows how to produce them. The students were able to change the situation: they invented their own model of the engine, thoroughly worked it out and thought out every little thing so that the engine would correspond exactly to the Palestinian conditions. The blocking of the Gaza Strip concerns land, air and sea territory. Since 2007 and to this day it is being implemented by Israel and Egypt. This conflict political situation hinders the well-being of the inhabitants of the region and does not allow them to realize all their rights in a full-fledged manner. In addition, this limits the territory and access to fuel.

Limited resources

The Israeli government controls energy sources and its suppliers in Palestine through the Israel Electric Corporation. The import of all kinds of energy is subject to a variety of stringent restrictions. All this can not but affect the lives of the Palestinians in a negative way. As it turns out, not all of them are ready to just accept this unfortunate turn of fate. With a tight budget, two students from the Islamic University of Al-Azhar managed to create something that allows them to abandon the search for fuel, which is so lacking in the territory of Gaza. A novelty from talented students gives hope, because many Palestinians suffer from an energy crisis every day. The region receives only forty-five percent of the required amount of electricity, and an air raid was made on the only power plant in Palestine. Using solar panels allows you to forget about these problems.

Technical characteristics of the invention

The three-wheeled vehicle is driven solely by solar energy. Its maximum speed is quite small and is just under thirty kilometers per hour. Nevertheless, such a car is really capable of helping the local people and overcoming the unfair situation with the restriction of the resources that are so necessary for the Palestinian territories. According to a statement from the University of Al-Azhar, the original idea to create a car driven by solar panels, and was due to the chronic shortage of electricity and constant restrictions on fuel, exhausted the region. The only Gaza power plant suffered from several attacks and was often forced to close, now it operates on less than half the estimated capacity. In addition, sometimes external circumstances affect. For example, in winter, cold weather violated the supply of gas to the territory of Palestine. After that, the plant was closed due to a tax conflict in the government.

Twenty-three-year students managed to create a car on solar panels from scratch. This is their thesis work. The prototype is quite compact, it is designed for a driver and one passenger. The car is equipped with two solar panels, one is located on the roof of the car, and the other is on the back, on the trunk. Panels convert solar energy into electricity, coming into the small engine of the car. Perhaps this invention will be a real breakthrough for the inhabitants of Palestine. Students, creating their own car, wanted to present the world with an original prototype, working on an alternative fuel. Such cars appeared before and in European universities, now the version was offered also by Palestinians. It was important for them to convey to the surrounding value of the value of solar energy. This is the first project in the territory of Gaza, capable of providing one hundred per cent of energy transport. Perhaps, in the situation of the region there will be a serious turn for the better.
