Socionics is a psychological theory that suggests the typing of individuals in certain categories. It is based on the principles proposed by the Swedish psychiatrist CG Jung in the work "Psychological Types." He decided to consider the human being in the "extraversion-introversion" coordinate system and identified in the psyche four basic functions - thinking, feeling, feeling and intuition. On the basis of his typology, the Lithuanian psychologist and sociologist Ausra Augustinavichiute in the 1970s. Developed a theoretical model, which was called "Model A" (conceptual provisions are presented in the works "The Dual Nature of Man" 1978, "The Theory of Intertype Relations" 1981).
Socionics: Types of Information Metabolism (TIM)
According to Augustinavichyute, any person exists in the context of energy exchange with the environment and other individuals: gives, receives, processes and interprets information flows in a certain way. This continuous process of interaction between the individual psyche and information was called "information metabolism". In this psychological concept called "Socionics", the types of information metabolism are understood as an innate structure of the psyche that determines the way of energy exchange of individuals with the environment. A certain type of IB (otherwise - a socionic type) is inherent in any person from birth and does not change throughout his life. According to the theory of Augustinavichyute, there are 16 types of information security, distinguished by four opposite categories (dichotomies): logic and ethics; Sensorics and intuition; Extraversion and introversion; Rationality and irrationality - this is the basis of socionics. Types determine how individuals receive and process information, as well as their opportunities when interacting with the environment, the weak and strong sides of the psyche. Socionics allows a person to better understand their own characteristics, the reasons for their behavior.

16 socionic types are distributed over four squares - systems with a high degree of comfort, consisting of 4 sociotypes each. In the quad, the balance of temperaments is maintained. The first square ("alpha") has the greatest cognitive potential and is intended for the dissemination of new knowledge. This quadro includes: intuitive-ethical and ethical-sensory extraverts, sensory-ethical and logical-intuitive introverts. The second quadrant ("beta") is designed to introduce new ideas and organize projects. It includes the following socotypes: logical-sensory and intuitive-ethical introverts, ethical-intuitive and sensory-logical extraverts.
The third square ("gamma"), business and dynamic, serves to reorganize society. It includes such TIMs: sensory-ethical and logical-sensory extroverts, intuitive-logical and ethical-sensory introverts. The fourth square ("delta") completes the "affairs" of all previous quadras and brings the reformed society to a stable state. This quadra includes: logical-sensory and intuitive-ethical extraverts, as well as ethical-intuitive and sensory-logical introverts.
Socionics: types. Test or observation?
There are several methods for studying the sociotype, but none of them can boast of absolute reliability. Until now, the most hopeful toolkit for this interesting concept, which is called "Socionics", has not been developed. The definition of the type of information metabolism is now possible with the help of tests, typing on forums and the method of observation. Many sites on the Internet offer online testing for the definition of TIM. Unfortunately, such a research tool is not very reliable. You can pass the same test several times and get completely different results in the end. This happens for a number of reasons, including because of subjectively incorrect information about yourself, because of the desire to appear better, and so on. The next way to determine TIM is typing on socionic forums. There, the definition of your type will be "knowledgeable" people, experienced "forum users." They will necessarily offer to fill out an extensive questionnaire, and they will ask additional questions, and then they will issue a verdict. Another way to determine the type is self-diagnosis. Having carefully studied the descriptions of 16 types, you can subjectively determine which one is closest to you. Unfortunately, this method is far from objective. Also for the study of the socionic type, the method of observation is used, but it can also "fail" the researcher. It is only possible to consistently conduct several types of typing under the guidance of a competent psychologist - a follower of socionics - to correctly determine the type of metabolism of the subject.
