What is humanity? The composition of the Russian language and examples from history

Man is not without reason called the crowning of the creation of the Most High. He subordinated nature to himself, and scientific and technological progress in a short time has gone so far that people can not even imagine how their ancestors lived several centuries ago without his achievements. However, those values that are common to all, despite all the technical revolutions, remain the same. What is humanity? The writing of a schoolboy can give an answer to this question. After all, everyone knows that even little ones are taught that empathy and compassion are among the characteristics that distinguish people from animals.

Human values and society development

When people talk about the crisis of European civilization, first of all they are referring to the crisis of those value orientations, directions towards which socium must develop. Previously, such compasses served different kinds of religious beliefs. But with technical development, religion gradually began to lose its positions. About a hundred years ago she gave an exhaustive answer to the question "what is humanity?". The writing that children now write in schools will be very different, although not so much by historical standards. Now, children are less likely to learn the ten commandments, the second of which is "love your neighbor as yourself." The theme of humanity from this did not become less relevant.

Compassion in everyday life

Manifestations of mercy can often be seen in everyday life. Someone helped lift a cart to a dilapidated old man on the stairs. Someone gave an orphan or just an unknown beggar. However, this quality is especially evident in those conditions when a person is under the threat of an absolute loss of his appearance. When all conditions help him to regress again to the stage of the animal, he nevertheless proves by his actions that he belongs to the genus Homo Sapiens - this expression of humanity is the highest and often accompanies heroic deeds.

Examples of humanity in inhuman conditions

One of the most monstrous manifestations of cruelty in the whole world history are the concentration camps of death. The people who got there, took away all property - from clothes to gold fillings in the teeth. The prisoners did not even have names. All that had at least some value, was taken away - even if it was the last memory of relatives and close people.

But later it turned out that even those who held the positions of overseers in these camps, often had a choice. They could behave better or worse against prisoners, thereby determining their fate. Many authors who survived that terrible period answer the question: "What is humanity?" Victor Frankl's "Telling lives:" Yes! ": A psychologist in a concentration camp" describes in detail what is happening and gives many examples of humanity.

Mother Mary: a benefactress who died in a concentration camp

In the concentration camp called Ravensbrück, a famous benefactress of hundreds of her contemporaries, nun Maria, passed away. Her ideals of faith and the desire to serve God were so great that even before the war, she divorced her husband and moved to Paris to get a haircut for a nun. And this despite the fact that they already had a son.

In her youth she was called Elizabeth Kuzmina-Karavaeva - she was a very talented and hardworking woman, she wrote poetry. One of her poems was also dedicated to him by Alexander Blok.

In Paris, Mother Mary opened a shelter for the needy. All the time she prepared food, sewed, was engaged in its arrangement, tried to find means for the poor. During the war, she and several of her accomplices, in order to save the lives of the Jews, gave them falsified testimonies of baptism. Then the secret organization of Mary's mother was uncovered, and the nun was sent to a concentration camp.

There she spent about three years. It is said that literally the day before the concentration camp was released, she exchanged the number with another prisoner and entered the gas chamber instead.

Everyone can be merciful

Thus, under absolutely different conditions, a quality such as humanity can manifest itself. Composition-reasoning can include various examples. However, in everyday life, and in such unbearable and cruel conditions as a concentration camp, actions can be dictated to them. The most important thing is his orientation: after all, in all cases a person sacrifices something for the sake of the good, and sometimes even the preservation of the life of another.

For this it is necessary to have very mature moral attitudes. The case of Mary's mother who possessed fearlessness before death and those people who could take her life is the highest manifestation of mercy and the answer to the question: "What is humanity?" The writing in the school can include examples of such personalities who displayed heroism in their Acts.

Everyone is able to exercise this quality. In any situation, there are many people who need help, and life itself gives everyone a lot of situations where one can make a choice in favor of humanity.
