Sliding gates for private house

Currently, private houses mainly use two types of gates - swinging and sliding. The latter are not used for a long time in personal economy. As early as a decade ago, such gates, especially those with remote control, were considered something exotic, descended from TV screens. Now everyone can afford this device. At enterprises, such gates have been used for a long time already for garages, parking lots, etc.

Sliding gates are considered a more convenient and functional option than conventional ones. They are more simple to operate and economical. Protect the territory of such gates is no worse than swing. In a personal economy they are convenient, first of all, because in winter, in order to open them after a snowfall, you do not need to clear the snow. In addition, they are sometimes simply irreplaceable in the areas of horticultural partnerships with their narrow streets and small allotments, where every meter of land is on the account.

Doing out sliding doors can even be cheaper than regular swing gates. It's all about the foundation and the supporting pillars. Since the latter carry only a vertical load, they may not be as massive as in the case of a swinging structure. Therefore, the foundation for them can be done less. In addition, if such a structure is present, it is not necessary to arrange an additional gate for entry. To go into the yard, you just need to slightly open the gate itself.

Often, some private traders are interested in how to make a sliding gate themselves. In fact, it's not that hard. The design of such gates consists of racks, bearing beams, actually a gate shield and a roller device for its movement. To begin with, a foundation is arranged. The depth of its laying should be at least one meter. In winter, snow is cleared at the entrance, so the depth of freezing, and consequently, the spring punching of the soil is quite large.

The pillars are attached to the foundation. If desired, they can simply be installed in a well drilled to a sufficient depth and poured with concrete. For the sliding gates to be comfortable enough, the distance between the posts is best equal to three meters. A beam is installed on them by means of special containers. It is desirable that it be removable. It should be located at a height of not less than 2.5 m, otherwise the car with a luggage compartment can not pass through the gate.

For a beam, you can take an ordinary metal pipe with a diameter of 60 mm. It is convenient in that, if necessary, it can be very easily extended to the desired length. To do this, use a piece of pipe smaller than one size of the diameter. It serves as an additional fastener. The seam between the pipes is brewed and sealed. As soon as the beam is ready, the frame is hung on rollers fixed to the top, to which the shields are fastened by screws. The frame is usually made of corners, and shields are made of corrugated board, smooth sheet or wood.

Gate automatic sliding, of course, is preferable to simple. In order to improve the design, they simply need to be equipped with an electric motor with a drive and (if desired) a remote control device. Thus, you get an excellent, comfortable gate that you can open without leaving the car.

As you can see, the sliding gate is a fairly simple construction, which can be done by almost any home master. Having spent very little time and effort, you will get a very convenient and functional mechanism.
