The car "Chevrolet Aveo T250" was launched in 2006. He replaced the T200 and got a more modern body. The equipment as a whole remained the same, however, the technical characteristics have improved. The cute design, especially compared to the previous version, impressed, and the new Aveo quickly won a wide audience of buyers. It has become one of the favorites in the market of budget cars, and to this day sells well. For ten years the car managed to show itself, so we have the opportunity to consider it from a practical point of view, relying on the experience of the owners.

"Aveo T250" is made in three versions. The most popular of these is the 5-door sedan. There is also a hatchback, with the presence of three and five doors. The model is collected in China, Korea, Poland and Ukraine. Chinese auto assembled in the GM subsidiary received the highest marks from the owners. Models of the Chinese assembly differ primarily in a 1.6-liter engine and a good bundle. Among the minor differences can be noted radiator grille, painted in body color, and a chrome trim strip between the taillights, as well as the elements of wood in the cabin. Chinese versions are made using the body type of the sedan.

Body

Compared with the previous version, Chevrolet Aveo T250 has a more corrosion-resistant body. However, anti-corrosion treatment is very appropriate, as on any other budget car. Unfortunately, the metal from which the body is made is very soft. Just pushing the car can leave a dent on it. As for optics, it is not sufficiently tight on some machines, as a result - fogging of headlights. In general, this concludes the weak spots of the Aveo T250 sedan. "Aveo T200" had a serious drawback - a weak welding seam fastening the shelf between the cups of the rear pillars. In the second generation, this fix was fixed.

Salon

The interior of the Aveo T250 is similar to the older brother, but has a lot of useful improvements. The Chinese version has a beige finish, and all the rest are dark gray. The light finish looks more expressive, but it is very impractical and needs a very accurate handling. The interior is finished with a hard, but not raspy plastic. Due to the wide side racks on the turns there is not enough visibility. The noise insulation of the body is frankly weak. In the back row, medium-height passengers can quite comfortably accommodate, however, the three of them will be crowded. Compared with the closest competitor - Daewoo Lanos, the Aveo T250 salon is already, and the backrests of the rear row seats are more vertical. But landing on the seats is slightly higher. The luggage compartment has a volume of 320 liters, which is not enough compared to competitors.

Engine

All "Chevrolet Aveo T250" models are equipped with gasoline engines. The most common of these is the 1.5-liter, 8-valve unit, which has proved itself well in the last generation of cars. With competent operation, it can be used without overhauling up to 500 thousand km. However, it happens that after 200 thousand run the rocker arm of the gas distribution mechanism leaves its working position due to the wear of the hydraulic compensators. Therefore, when knocking the valves, it is necessary to check the hydraulic compensators and, if necessary, replace them. On the car of those who like to drive at increased speeds, in time, the gasket of the valve cover and the camshaft packing can lose its tightness.

The Chinese engine with a volume of 1.6 liters can have both in-line and V-shaped arrangement of the cylinders. Its main advantage is a higher power with almost the same appetite as a 1.5-liter engine. This engine also does not reveal any serious "illnesses", so you can safely buy it. There is only one characteristic problem - the leakage of the valve cover gasket.

Timing belt for both motors must be changed with rollers every 6 thousand kilometers. But the pump, which is driven by this same belt, serves twice as much.

The car has a pretty solid appetite - about 10 liters per 100 km of track, so many owners set it to HBO. As practice shows, the engines that work with gas installations serve not worse than gasoline. Tuning "Aveo T250" makes it possible to improve the characteristics of the engine, but usually do not resort to it.

Transmission

The lion's share of machines of this model is completed with a 5-step mechanics. Machines with a 4-speed automatic machine do not exceed 20%. Both boxes suffer from the poor sealing of the seals of the semi-axles and the crunch of the outer grenades. So sometimes these elements have to be changed. In the rest both check points are quite reliable. Several problems that were characteristic of the previous version of the car, the manufacturer successfully eliminated. The clutch has a hydraulic drive, which deserves just one remark - the noise of the release bearing.

Suspension

Chassis has a high energy intensity, and copes well with the defects of our roads. However, with a sharp maneuvering, the body is noticeably heeling. Therefore, the car is more suitable for a measured ride.

The design of the Aveo T250 suspension is similar to the previous version - an independent McPherson in front and a semi-independent beam from the rear. The suspension is well adapted to our realities and serves for a long time. Stabilizer bars can serve up to 50 thousand km, but the silent blocks of the front levers, ball bearings and stabilizer bushings usually withstand a run up to 100 thousand km.

Steering and braking system

The Aveo T250 steering wheel is equipped with a hydraulic booster. This unit is sometimes susceptible to leakage from the shaft seal. Even less often there is a wear of the GUR, which is manifested by a characteristic knocking. Steering ends serve 60-80 thousand km, and thrusts and even up to 100 thousand. The brake system works without complaints, however, ABS sensors sometimes fail.

Conclusion

The status of one of the leaders in sales on the post-Soviet market of budget cars, this car was quite deserved. "Aveo" combines an acceptable cost, reliability, adaptability to our roads and inexpensive services. The machine is well suited to any audience of budget buyers. It is moderately modern, and it looks more profitable than some competitors. Easy tuning "Aveo T250" will make the car even more interesting and for a few years forget about the desire to change the car.

In 2012, the production of the Chevrolet Aveo T250 model was discontinued. The price of the car on the secondary market today is from 5 thousand dollars. But the history of the car does not end there. In fact, since 2012 it is produced in Ukraine under the name of ZAZ Vida. In addition to the name, nothing has changed in the car. The new "Vida" costs about 12 thousand dollars.
