True, the events of 2008 in Georgia almost interrupted communication. But Russia and NATO have not become critical for their relations. NATO is a political union of various countries. Everyone in it solves its problems, seeks benefits. There was a serious crisis. Politicians could not foresee this. The countries of Europe, for their part, also did not want the dissolution of the Alliance. And they did not think of fear of an ephemeral Russian threat at the time. They were so profitable. The alliance freed the authorities of the member states from the need to form and maintain their armies. NATO dealt with serious problems in the development, introduction of new weapons, and solved defense issues. Europeans felt that this is a profitable union, and it is not worth to give it up.
