Ruff is a democratic drink

There are cocktails in the culinary world, which can be safely called national. This is "Ruff" - a respected drink, probably in the entire post-Soviet space. Most likely, his formula was derived by accident: like all genius in nature, it is very simple and effective. What we are used to understand by the word "Ruff" - a drink that includes beer and vodka - actually has several variations, which we will discuss in more detail in our today's article. And there already everyone will have to decide on his own: try it or not?

"Ruff" - a drink of workers and peasants

In the Soviet Union, in beer stalls, vodka was not served a priori, or in order not to solder the people too much, or for any other reason. The beer was sold weak and, often, already unnoticeably divorced - especially not zhholeesh. And after a working shift with friends, many wanted to sit and drink. And then our ingenious people came up with "Ruff" - the drink is really simple and effective. A couple of sips of beer drank from the beer glass and, unnoticed from the vigilant eyes of the saleswoman, under the table, the shortfall was replenished with the same amount of "white". Then the mug came back to the table, and the beer mixed with vodka was sucked in quietly, without hurrying. Vodka in yellowish brown beer dissolved completely, without changing its color scale - no traces of crime: after all, bringing with you and drinking alcohol (strong) drinks was strictly forbidden!

A little more history

And here is another interesting version of the "Ruff" appearance. According to this variant, the drink appeared in the 19th century. The merchant class had an economical habit: after the festive table, gather all the food that was undernourished, in a pile. And non-drunk spirits were also collected in a special designed vessel for this purpose. This fire mixture was called "Ershom". Although at the present time, however, this concept is understood, rather, a mixture of vodka and beer.

So, the formula of the classic "Ruff" is very simple and easy to implement in any conditions, whether it is a picnic in nature or home gatherings with guests. To create a national cocktail we need: a 0.5-liter mug of high-quality and dense beer, which has pronounced hop-like hues (this is necessary in order to completely dampen the vodka flavor and smell), about 50 grams of good and high-quality vodka. A strong ingredient can be taken and more - for example, 70-100 grams - this dose for fans of extreme sports. But then the taste of vodka will be felt already clearly. In addition, from one such a drink can be immediately drunk, so it's better to stick with the traditional version.

Preparation is simple: take a sip from a glass of sips (or - cast) and add vodka there. They drink the cocktail chilled - in the warm form the taste of vodka can "get out". Yes, and do not forget to keep the style, to submit to the "Ruff" as a snack a "rusty" fish, such that you can knock on the table, and a newspaper for storing scales and bones. Then everything will be ranked by rank. Well, seriously, the "Ruff" is recommended to drink in large sips, almost in one gulp. You can sprinkle the edges of the mug with large crystals of salt: so tastier. And look, do not get carried away. A couple of mugs - and enough: this is not beer for you, from such a cocktail the intoxication is fast. This is achieved due to the fact that the carbon dioxide contained in beer affects the mucosa in the gastrointestinal tract, facilitating the rapid absorption of ethyl alcohol into the blood.

"Rise and Descent"

"Ruff" (drink) how to cook yet? This variant of "ruffle" cocktail is called "from brown bear to white, and back". This "Ruff" (alcoholic drink) is optimal for men's foam parties, where you can arrange a competition: who will be the most persistent? We take a mug of beer and take a sip from it. The vacant place is filled with vodka (and beer and spirits are best used chilled). After - after a while - we still drink the mixture from the container and again supplement it with vodka (repeat the procedure until the drink is completely clarified in the mug). Thus, the brown bear turns into white. When the liquid in the cup acquires a practically transparent color, we begin to add the beer and again sip the throat. Experts of feasts say: there are many who met a white bear in this way, but only the most persistent and strong are able to meet again brown (that is, when the color of the liquid in the mug turns back into a beer, yellowish brown).

Drink "Ruff" can be prepared (and most importantly - a drink) and another technology. In a faceted ordinary glass pour a gram of 50 beers (in the original - "Zhigulevskoe"). We also introduce 100 grams of vodka. On top of the faceted container should be covered with a napkin or towel (as an option, a clean palm is used). Tightly clamping the top with the palm so that the liquid does not leak, turn the glass and get a good knock on the knee. Then again, as soon as possible, turn over and drink the contents (while the mass foams and hisses as a result of the impact) with a volley.
