Rocarii with their own hands require a lot of effort

Rockary (photo) - this is one of the elements of landscape design, used for a harmonious combination of plants and stones. This is something more than just a flower bed, it's rather a picture made in the open air.

It is not at all difficult to manufacture rockeries with your own hands. First you need to mark on the ground a place for rockery. Then, remove the perennial grasses and remove a part of the turf, and instead of the removed soil, pour sand, broken brick, stones and pebbles with a layer of about 4 cm. Place the rockery in a sunny spot that has a good view from all sides of the infield. Designers recommend a number to equip a dry creek that mimics the natural, for the production of which crushed stone, painted in blue and blue colors, is used.

From plants choose, as a rule, undersized and ground cover perennials. Enough of only a combination of clarifications or sedums of different colors to cause admiration of others. Imagine how the gray, emerald, purple, whitish garden succulents will intertwine with time.

You can put a less aggressive, but "whimsical" gentian, armeria, Iberis, Carpathian bell, shilovid phlox, arabis or obrietta. They all have attractive foliage and beautiful flowering.

Begin to do rockeries with their own hands, with the fact that they paint on the ground the shape of the base of the flower bed, which they want to receive. Then remove the fertile layer of soil, which is covered with a black film to burn the seeds of weeds.

The first thing you need to do is drainage. In the pit, sand, broken brick and rubble are poured into layers. The topmost layer will be fertile soil up to 30 cm thick.

The main element here are stones, which bear not only an aesthetic load - they will have to step up, caring for the plants. In order for this to be possible, they must be sustainable. To this end, the stones are deepened into the ground.

Rockeries with their own hands are created using smooth stones of the same breed. You can safely imitate the mountain ridge, or rather, the valley, which bore several boulders. The main criterion for selecting stones is this: they should like you, because you will not only admire the plants.

If you do not know how to make a rockery attractive with the help of flowers, place the pots with the planting material on the intended places. Look around, look, if suddenly something does not like - rearrange it in another way. After you determine the final place for rockeries, plant the plants in the ground.

The use of stumps, bizarre branches or knots, like monsters, tree roots is perfectly permissible in order to decorate a stone bed. It is important not to disturb the harmonious ratio of decorative elements to the dimensions of rockeries.

Care of the composition is in the spring feeding of flowers, removal of dry buds to prevent self-sowing, and in hot weather, frequent watering and mandatory weeding are necessary.

When choosing plants, you can pay attention to creeping species of shrubs, such as juniper or cotoneaster. Believe that the combination of emerald foliage with a matte texture of the stone will not leave anyone indifferent.
