Reserve "Basegi" in the Perm region: description, animals

Unfortunately, you can see less often untouched places even in the Middle Urals. But today we still have a unique opportunity to do this in the preserve "Basegi", which is located in the Perm region. It was created to preserve a huge array of Middle Urals fir and fir forests, which are located in the foothills of the Bassega ridge. The forest zone of the reserve is the only valuable taiga massif of the Middle Urals that has not been cut down. Reserve "Basegi" is a reference object of taiga ecosystems.

Location:

To understand where this reserved territory is located, you will need a map of the Perm region. It clearly shows that the reserve is located on the territory of this region in the Gornozavodsky and Gremyachi regions. From the city of Gremyachinsk the nearest point of the reserve is 43 km away, from the city of Gornozavodsk - 50 km.

Nature reserve

The reserve has a continental climate characterized by warm summers and a fairly cold and prolonged winter with strong winds and heavy snowfalls. In summer, rains with thunderstorms are common in these places.

The range of "Basegi" is three arrays, which are divided by hollows. The relief, formed after the last glaciation and weathering, has bizarre shapes. Nowadays, the formation of weathering products and flowing water affect its formation.

Reserve "Basegi" cross 11 relatively small rivers. Their sizes range from 3 to 10 km. These are mountain rivers, characterized by rapid flow and crystal clear water.

Flood in spring lasts a little over a month. During the abundant summer showers, the water level in the rivers considerably increases. The largest in the reserve are Vilva and Ulva. The maximum width of the Ulva is 92 m, and its depth in some areas exceeds 2 m. The ice cover lasts about 200 days. Vilva has the greatest width of 84 m, depth - 2 m.
