Rat Dyudenev in 1293

During the years of the Tatar-Mongol yoke, Rus experienced several major invasions of hordes from the east. One of such punitive expeditions is known as Dudenev's.

Invasion of Tudan

At the end of the XIII century, Russia was in complete decline. For fifty years the country has suffered from the invasion of the Mongols. These nomads overlaid the Slavic cities with tribute, and the princes were forced to travel to the east to seek a label permitting the ruling of their native lands. As a rule, the people behaved humbly, as they were bloodless and devastated. But there have been occasional uprisings. Therefore, the Tatars had to organize campaigns against Russia to punish the disobedient. This was the kind of Dudenev's.

In 1293, a large army of Tudan invaded the Slavic principalities. It was the Horde prince, in Russian chronicles also known as Dyuden. The Tartar army went to the aid of the Grand Duke Andrei Aleksandrovich. At this time he fought with other contenders for the Vladimir throne. The Golden Horde supported Andrey, giving him the label. However, some princes disagreed with this decision. At the head of the coalition was Dmitry Alexandrovich.

The fall of Russian cities

Tudar's army Dyudenev was not the first to find herself on Russian soil to rob and kill under the guise of help one of the contenders for power in Vladimir. However, it is the events of 1293 in the Russian chronicles that are most fully reflected. This is not surprising, because Dudenyev's army ruined dozens of cities in North-Eastern Russia, which was not since the first invasion of Batu.

The first to fall was Moore. All Ryazan land was traditionally a springboard for the eastern hordes. There were convenient ferries across the Oka, passing through which, you could easily work in the most populated areas of Russia. Su Moore was followed by Suzdal, Vladimir, Uglich and other important cities. The princes could not oppose the invaders, because their actions were scattered and uncoordinated.

Absence of resistance

Traditionally, the Russian rulers were not able to gather a common army to repel the enemy's deadly blow. This was due to the disastrous political fragmentation of Russia. The weakness of the princes was enjoyed with pleasure by Dudenev. The date of her invasion is noted in the annals of that time by horrible stories of merciless bloodshed. Men were killed, women were taken into slavery, cities were burned, and fortresses were torn down.

Such predatory approach was the norm for eastern hordes. People who grew up in the steppe valued nothing but their own horse. They happily destroyed the buildings and cities of settled Slavs. Nevryueva rat, Dyudeneva's army and other invasions always ended in the same - a colossal economic decline in Russia. In the XIII century, because of the regular bloodshed and wars in cities, even some crafts were forgotten, as all masters perished or were taken into slavery.

Effects

When Dyudeni destroyed enough cities to intimidate the princes and gained much booty, he quietly retired back to the steppe. His invasion had the longest-lasting consequences for Northeast Russia. Researchers emphasize that it was at the end of the 13th century that many residents of large cities fled to the outskirts of the country. Most often, shelters from nomads became deaf northern forests, where their cavalry could not reach. So, after Dudene's invasion, the population began to move massively to Vyatka, Novgorod and other safe areas.

From a political point of view, the Tatars' campaign also had its fruits. Their protege Andrei Gorodetsky became a great Vladimir prince and held the throne until his death in 1304. Many contemporaries hated him, believing that for his selfish interests he had brought a Tartar horde to his native land, which destroyed many cities and villages.
