Rake-tedder: purpose and technical features of agricultural equipment

At all times, rakes were considered the main attribute of agricultural work. Now, at the time of automation, these devices have long been used for industrial purposes on motoblocks and huge tractors. The performance of such a "tandem" is hundreds of times greater than that of conventional rake with a wooden handle, which we often get used to remember. What are they?

Outwardly they do not remind us at all of the classic rake. It is rather an entire agro-industrial complex, capable of automatically collecting heaps of hay and turning them into convenient rolls for transportation and storage. The latter, traveling around the field, pulls the hitch, and the attachments, in turn, automatically collects and hams the hay. It is worth noting that some models of tedder can handle and collect not only hay, but also piles of withered grass. Most often, this mini-tractor is assembled with this type of mounted equipment, class 0,6 - 1,4 t. In addition, rake-tedder can work in tandem with a motor-block. However, their performance is much lower than that of the huge tedder used on tractors.
