The modern Abyssinian well has such a design: a set of galvanized steel pipes, whose diameter is 25-70 millimeters, and a length of about 1.5 meters, are attached to each other by a coupling. The strength when submerged in a well or slaughtered by galvanized pipes provides the thickness of the walls of steel pipes, it must be at least 5 millimeters.

At the very bottom of this design, a special threaded tip is installed. This detail is a quadrangular point, approximately 25 to 30 centimeters in length. It is necessary to take into account the fact that its diameter should be greater than the filter diameter by about 5-10 millimeters. This element of construction with a massive clutch is connected to a special filter, which is a pipe with long openings from 0.7 to 1 meter.

These holes are made in strict staggered order. They should begin approximately 20 centimeters from the coupler and the sharp tip. The size of these holes should be from 3 to 8 millimeters. After installation, this part of the tube is wound with a stainless steel wire, the cross section of which is from two to three millimeters, and the distance between its turns is from fifteen to twenty millimeters. And only on top of the wire can attach the filter grid. This filter element is attached by means of cross-linking or soldering.

A ball valve is fixed in the coupling itself on a special filter. The lifting of this valve is limited by a stopper. For the lifting of groundwater, a piston pump is used, which looks like a column equipped with levers. The productivity of this well depends directly on the thickness of the suction pipes.

You can perfectly build an Abyssinian well with your own hands, the main thing to remember is that the location of this structure should be at the maximum distance from sedimentation tanks or cesspools. Otherwise, contaminated wastewater will be mixed with clean groundwater.
