Puncture of the ovarian cyst

Ovarian cyst is a cavity with a fluid inside, having its own shell, which is located in the tissues of the ovary and increases its volume.

There are several types of cysts:

  1. Functional - the formations that are formed from the follicle and the yellow body, so they are divided into follicular and luteinizing (in accordance with the phases of the cycle).
  2. Endometrioid cysts are a consequence of endometriosis of the genital organs.
  3. Dermoid cysts.
  4. Cystadenomas.

How to treat a cyst?

At the moment, there are many ways to treat ovarian cysts , each of which is most effective for a particular type of education.

For example, with formations up to 1 cm, expectant or observational tactics are applicable.

Conservative therapy (drugs and herbs) is directed primarily at suppressing growth and developing this education.

Surgical treatment is one of the most cardinal methods. With the help of various auxiliary tools, the cyst is completely removed within the healthy tissues. It should be noted that most formations are then not re-formed.

Also used in the treatment of this pathology and minimally invasive techniques. These include puncture and sclerosing. Under the control of the ultrasound device, a puncture of the formation and aspirated contents is made-this procedure is called a puncture of the ovarian cyst. After it, a sclerosant can be introduced into the cavity of the cyst, a special substance that glues the walls of this formation.

It should be noted that the method of puncture biopsy and sclerosing can be used only for cysts with thin walls that do not "respond" to drugs within six months. These techniques are applicable to all endometrioid formation with a prescription of more than two months.

Puncture of the ovarian cyst can be performed only after obtaining the results of a general analysis of blood and urine, analysis for tumor markers, coagulograms, ultrasound of the pelvic cavity.

The whole procedure is carried out under general anesthesia. In the vagina is introduced a special sensor, which includes a conductor and a needle for piercing. After the cyst is completely emptied, a small amount of alcohol is poured into it, in order to disinfect and glue the walls.

Puncture of the ovarian cyst is a universal method, allowing simultaneous diagnosis and treatment of the process. After the liquid is removed, it is sent to the diagnostic laboratory, where its composition is revealed.

After manipulation, a woman should be under the supervision of specialists for about 24 hours, in order to avoid possible complications.

Puncture of the ovaries is similar in technology to biopsy cysts. Usually it is carried out with the purpose of extracting the follicle for in vitro fertilization. However, this manipulation can be prescribed for the purpose of diagnosing the pathology of the genital organs.

Puncture of the ovarian cyst is quite complicated and requires caution and a qualified doctor.

After any minimally invasive manipulation, a woman may be bothered by dull aching pain in the lower abdomen, spotting. These are completely normal phenomena for the given situation, which should not be feared. To worry is when the body temperature rises above 38 degrees, the appearance of chills and sweat. In case of copious discharge of blood, you should immediately seek help from specialists.

As a rule, the prognosis after conducting a puncture biopsy of the ovarian cyst is favorable. Education is rarely relapsed and complicated.

An integrated approach to treatment (puncture together with the intake of hormonal drugs) will help to achieve a positive result much faster.
