To build an ordinary structure you will need:

  • Metal rods (usually apply 8 pieces).

What tools are used?

A potato-thrower for a motoblock with his own hands is made with tools. You should prepare:

  • Bolts;

Framing

The frame is welded in accordance with certain rules.

First, a rectangle for fastening is welded. For this purpose, a square- shaped pipe made of metal is taken. Its length should be 4 m, and the width and height - 4 cm. It is sawn into four parts. Two pieces should be 120 cm, and the other two 80 cm. Weld rectangles 120x80 cm. The edges of the parts are advised to be sanded by means of a grinder, so as not to injure hands when working metal during the fastening of the skirts.

Further, a jumper is welded. It will be needed to install the traction and tilt control. It joins a quarter of the length of the rectangle from the metal square. On the other side of the frame are vertically welded two tubes, the diameter of which is 3 cm, and the length - 15 cm. They should be located on the outside of the frame and fixed in the corner. These fasteners are required for a vertical axis, on which two wheels for support will be placed.

A drill hole drilled a hole of 10 mm in diameter in each tube in any place (the same hole will be drilled on the wheel support for the stopper).

Vertical racks are welded to the frame from the side of the bridge. It should retreat 5 cm from the end of the frame and perpendicularly on both sides weld a square of metal 30x30 mm. Its length should be 50 cm. It is necessary to retreat another 20 cm and weld the racks, the length of which is 40 cm, then retreat from them for another 40 cm and weld the racks 30 cm long.

Externally, the resulting configuration will be similar to an inverted ladder. The ends of the rack are connected.

How to connect the ends of racks?

Now you should proceed to connect the ends of the racks with a strip of metal, the thickness of which is 0.4 mm. At an angle of 45º below, strips 40 cm long are welded to each stand. The ends of the strips are welded together. The design will look like a triangle.

Pitched board and ralo

The potato digger vibratory for the motor block assumes the presence of a sloping board and a ral. They make up the working part of the device. The function of the ral is to tear out the potatoes from the soil and feed the tubers with the soil onto the slate board made of rods. The first two racks, lowered from the frame (40 cm and 50 cm long) serve to fix the digger.

How to weld ralo?

To make a rally, you should bake two M12 bolt holes in a sheet of metal with a size of 40x40 cm and a thickness of 0.3 mm. Precisely such holes are made in the racks. In this case, you should retreat to 50 mm from the bottom. Sheet is tightened tightly. Quality nuts and drill are used.

A sheet of the same size is welded on the reverse side. Then another sheet of metal measuring 70x30 cm and a thickness of 0.4 mm is used. Butt welded to the side sheets.

A hammer strikes in the center. Metal must take the form of a cone. The slab board is welded. Some ends of metal rods, whose diameter is 10 mm (suitable fittings), are soldered to the rails from below. Other ends go beyond the bottom of the device. The length of the reinforcement should be 120 cm.

To provide reinforcement, not allowing the rods to stagger in the air, you should weld a riser 30 cm long at the end of the frame. From one riser to the other, a square pipe is welded (you can use the bar to which the rods are welded). This provides stability. It will be about two-thirds the length. The edges of the rods should be left free. They will vibrate when the potato digger is working and provide better seedling from the ground.

Why do we need traction for regulation?

They serve to collect potatoes after the rains have passed. The presence of these components contributes to the complexity of the design, so you should determine initially how much they are needed. Drafts contribute to the regulation of the angle of inclination of the rods.

If they are still to be installed, they should be welded not to risers 30 cm long, but to drafts. The second rod is welded to the first cross member of the frame. To reduce the angle of inclination, the rope must be unscrewed. She puts out the stocks and lengthens.

If the device is used in dry soil, then it is possible to increase the ejection angle of the tubers in order to improve their purification from the ground. For this purpose, the rods are screwed back.

It is better to use two thrusts in parallel, so that the armature does not stagger during digging.

Manufacture of wheels

The potato digger to the motor block is assembled, it remains to attach wheels to it. You can use any wheels from the wheelbarrow with a load capacity of at least 100 kg.

To each wheel is welded fastening in the form of the letter "G". The best option would be if the wheels from the old wheelbarrow are equipped with an axle. A wheel with a 5 cm axis is cut off. The posts are attached to the axis. In the stands, holes of 10 mm are made through every 4 cm. They perform the locking function.
