Krasnodar Territory is a unique land, from which side you look at it. And in a special territory there lives the same people. The mild climate, the richness of nature, the tender sea from ancient times attracted people here. Studying the life of the Kubanians requires an integrated approach: one must take into account cultural diversity, a large number of people, a tight settlement and a mixture of representatives of different nationalities.

The population of the Krasnodar Territory is leading by the number of inhabitants per one square kilometer, letting ahead only the Moscow region. Its distinctive feature is the large number of people and a whole bouquet of nationalities.

Quantitative indicators

In 2010, according to the census, the number of people living here has reached the level of 5,226,000. While in the country after the 1990s there is a serious drop in indicators, the population of the Krasnodar Territory increased by 2% compared to 2002 data. In addition to the natural replenishment of the number of inhabitants, the natural decline is covered, according to statistical sources, also by migration growth. In comparison with the last years of the existence of the Soviet Union, the population of the Krasnodar Territory grew by 10%. Specialists say that this was mostly due to the influx of so-called economic migrants from Ukraine, Belarus and other countries. Anyway, this is a phenomenon for the post-Soviet space.

Age and gender indicators

As for the sex of the inhabitants, as elsewhere in the territory of the Russian Federation, the population of the Krasnodar Territory mostly consists of women. They are 379.9 thousand more than representatives of the stronger sex. In the same 2002, this difference was 358,600. This means that in 2010 there were 1,157 women per man. Experts attribute this deterioration to the high mortality rate among men of working age. The number of rural settlements increased by 6 units, but for 8 years between the censuses there was both the appearance of new ones and the disappearance of old settlements. There were also carried out the renaming of some settlements - urban settlements became villages (8 such units).

At the same time, 34% of the urban population lives in the largest cities of the region - Armavir, Krasnodar, Sochi, Novorossiysk.

Nationalities

In the west and north of the region, many Russians are of Ukrainian origin. In the south, there are many Armenians, especially in Sochi, Armavir, Anapa, Tuapse. However, most of the population is Russian.

As for the Germans, Greeks, Turks, their numbers fell after the 1930s as a result of forced relocations and repression.

The population of the Krasnodar Krai is practically unchanged due to the influx of economic migrants, as they come to a greater extent to larger cities. Due to gastarbeiters in general, the number of residents has increased by 1 million. Recently, not only visiting workers are raising the statistics of the region - many residents of other regions are buying housing closer to the south.

How to talk

Official language is Russian. However, on the streets of both big cities and villages, one can hear an unfamiliar speech. The reason is different nationalities of the region. Even despite the long residence in this locality, residents do not take over Russian speech completely, but bring their own sound. Western populated areas are full of Ukrainisms, many words in the south are borrowed from German, Adyghe, languages of other nationalities. Although this applies only to spoken language. All business documents are in Russian.

Availability of workplaces

According to surveys, at least 2.4 million people consider the labor source as a source of livelihood. Pensioners (without disability payments) are less than a third - 1,300,000. The private sector feeds 0.4 million.
