Poklonnaya Hill: metro station. Moscow metro stations on the map

The Poklonnaya Hill (metro station "Victory Park") is a shallow hill to the west of the center of Moscow, stretching between the small rivers of Filka and Setun. In ancient times the Poklonnaya Mountain was outside of Moscow, and from its top the city panorama was viewed. A path passed along the slope of the mountain, and everyone who passed by stopped to bow to the church on top. These bows are human and gave the name to this place - Poklonnaya Gora. Metro is the most convenient way to get to the Memorial Complex today.

The station "Victory Park" of the Moscow Metro is located close enough to the Poklonnaya Gora memorial complex and represents a major interchange node, which combines the two metro lines of Moscow - the Kalininsk-Solntsevskaya and the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya. Transplantation of the passenger flow is carried out through two halls, identical in a constructive plan, but with different decorative design. The halls have been functioning since May 2003, when the section from the Kievskaya station was continued, one line to the west of the Koltseva Line. Since January 2014, a previously unused site has been opened, today part of the radius of the new line - Kalininsk-Solntsevskaya - passes through it. Trains are open to the "Business Center" station.

At present, work is under way to lay the second section of the Kalininsk-Solntsevo line in the south-western direction, to the Ramenki, Lomonosovsky Prospekt and Minskaya stations.

The opening of new stretches is planned for November-December 2015, and this will add potential opportunities the shortest way to get to Moscow's main attraction - the Memorial Complex on Poklonnaya Hill.
