If you do not want to go to the store, then we offer you an alternative.

Plastic at home is made as follows:

  1. To get approximately 350 grams of material at the output, you need to take 250 grams (1 glass) of PVA glue, 250 grams of cornstarch (if you do not need a snow-white color, you can use ordinary starch), one tablespoon of petroleum jelly and hand cream Ordinary low-fat and without silicone), two tablespoons of lemon juice.
  2. From the dishes and tools, take a bowl that will mix ingredients, a spoon for stirring, a backing, a piece of food film or kulechek, a piece of cloth that absorbs moisture well, a plastic spatula.
  3. In a bowl, pour out all the starch and pour glue with petroleum jelly.
  4. When the ingredients are thoroughly mixed, add the lemon juice.
  5. Set the maximum power on the microwave and put a bowl in it for 30 seconds. Then move everything and turn on the oven for half a minute. You can use a gas stove. Then stir the mass until thickened over a small fire.
  6. Lubricate the hand cream with the substrate and lay out the mass on it, after removing the upper frozen ball. It must be thrown away.
  7. Mix the mass as if you were working with a dough. Knead for five minutes until the slice becomes elastic. Help yourself with a spatula. With its help, pieces from the substrate are easily scraped off.
  8. Roll a piece of plastic into the sausage and put it on the cloth to leave excess moisture. Put everything in the refrigerator, as in the air the material will solidify.
  9. After a while, clean the cloth and wrap it in a film or bag.

Some tips and guidelines for working with plastic

  • To not prepare each time a new portion of plastic, you can make stocks. The material can be stored for a long time in a tightly closed glass jar or plastic container in the refrigerator. When you want something to dazzle, cut off a small piece from a large stock, and send the rest back.
  • It is best to use a plastic plate or a silicone mat as a substrate. Then the plastic for molding with their own hands will not stick.
  • At the end of modeling all tools and substrate should be cleaned well, so that the plastic remains are not dried out and migrated to a new product the next time.
  • If the hand-made article consists of several parts that you need to join together, then the best way to do this is to use a conventional PVA glue.
  • As additional tools and materials, as your products become more and more plastic, you may need molds (plastic or silicone), sticks (from ice cream, chupa-chups and so on), caps from handles, rulers, rolling pins and much more.
