Pissardi is a plum, known for its abundant fruit bearing. Red sweet-sour-to-taste fruits ripen by the end of August and remain on the tree until October. They are large (up to 3 cm) juicy stems of dark red color.

Growth conditions

In natural wild plum conditions, the spread Pissardi grows mainly in Western Asia and the North Caucasus. It prefers open areas, which are well illuminated by the sun. Life expectancy can be 100 years or more.

Can grow in arid areas, if the plant provides the necessary watering. Pissardi is a plum that does not have winter hardiness. Sometimes, when planting it in regions where the winter is too cold for these plants, there may be a freezing of young trees.

Planting and care

First of all, it is necessary to choose a suitable place for this culture. The site must be sunny, not blown by the winds. Even a slight shading can lead to loss of crop. If groundwater is too close, drainage will be required.

Landing is done in the same way as any other garden trees. It ends with good watering (at least 2 buckets of water) and mulching. Pissardi - plum, which, like any other, is very poorly tolerated by a lack of moisture. Every 2 weeks in the absence of rain under the tree you need to pour from 4 to 6 buckets of water.

Feeding in the first year after planting is not required. In the autumn fall in the soil humus from the calculation of a half-bucket per 1 m². In the spring, potassium fertilizers or sodium humate can be used . During the ripening of fruits to increase the yield, additional fertilizing with a solution of urea or "Effeton" is carried out.

Plum Pissardi refers to heat-loving crops. Therefore, to protect against frostbite for the winter, the foundation of the trunk is covered with peat, straw or fallen leaves. You can sprinkle it with additional snow, which can also save from the cold and moisten the soil in the spring.

The plum is propagated by the vegetative method - by layers, cuttings, ocularization or grafting.

Different shapes

  • Plum Pissardi dark purple grows up to 6 meters and has excellent decorative properties in the period of both flowering and fruiting. Glossy shiny leaves 7 cm in size have a saturated red color of the lower part. Pink flowers have a diameter of 2.5 cm. The variety is characterized by low winter hardiness and is suitable for planting only in areas where there are no frosts.

  • Pissardi Plum early - a tree up to seven meters high, with medium leafiness. Annual shoots are rather thin and short, full of red coloration. Flowers are white, 2.5 cm in size.
  • The cysten is a hybrid of Pissardi plum and sand cherry. The height of the tree is only two meters. Long leaves of the ovoid form are pointed at the ends and have denticulate margins. Flowers are small - from 1.5 to 2 cm, pink in color. Trees are more resistant to frost, so they can land in more northern areas.

Using

Plum Pissardi, described above, is widely used in landscape design. It looks good both as single landings, and in coloristic compositions. This tree is suitable for alley design, and from stunted forms you can get magnificent hedges and curbs.
