The famous trilogy "Hunger Games", author - Susan Collins

Who is the author of the book trilogy "Hunger Games"? Today even a person who is extremely far from literature will answer this question. The name Susan Collins is known around the globe, and some particularly zealous fans repeat it even in a dream. This is a woman who gave readers and viewers the opportunity to move into the world of their fantasies and feel what is happening in him. This is an anti-utopia, and most events make you sad or even cry, but the book is worth reading, there is no doubt about it.

Childhood

Susan Collins was born in 1962 in a small town in Connecticut, USA. Her father was a military man, so the family moved a lot. Not having time to get used to one team, Susan was already forced to withdraw from the place and move on, but despite this, Collins received a good education, entered the university.

The relevance

The first recognition Collins received as the author of scenarios for children's television shows. She moved to New York and decided to prove herself in this particular field. Unconditional talent and hard work have done their job: she became a popular screenwriter. Then there was still no question of writing something like "Hunger Games." The author of children's stories, cartoons and shows received her first prize - the prize of the American Guild of Writers for one of her works.

The first books

Later, after getting to know James Proimos, also a children's author, Collins has an idea of a new story that can touch the reader. No, it was not "Hunger Games" again. The author of the book, which brought her world fame, first decided to tell the story of a boy who got into a magical land, jumping into the sewer hatch. Gradually, one novel grows into a whole series, and books are already arranged on the bookshelves, the authorship of which undoubtedly belongs to Susan Collins.

Fame

"The hunger game" the author calls his main brainchild, because they are embedded in her father's memories of the Vietnam War, hunger, poverty, orphans and widows. Another side of the novel were Greek myths about Theseus and Minotaur, which also required the collection of the best boys and girls and sent to death in the clutches of a monster. In the book, this role is played by the state system, which strives to maintain power through the disunity of the inhabitants and constant fear.

In 2008, early autumn, the first part of the "Hunger Games" trilogy was published. The author, as they say, woke up famous. Her work sold out unprecedented circulation, literally immediately fell into the list of world bestsellers, where it is still.

Continuation of the novel

The author did not put off the release of the following books "Hunger Games" for a long time. While luck and inspiration accompanied her, the words quickly and harmoniously fell on the paper. And in a year the second volume "And the flame will burst", or "Ignition", was on the shelves of stores. The author of the book "Hunger Games: Mocking Mock" was released earlier, on August 24, 2010, thus putting the point in the history of Kitnis, Pete, Gale, Heimich and other characters. The fans were very impressed by the number of battle scenes and sad fragments. Many of the characters did not live up to the finals, but it emphasized the rigidity in which they existed all this time. No fight goes without loss, but if you do not fight at all, you can lose absolutely everything. That's what the wonderful book teaches the readers.

Screening

In 2012, the trilogy "Hunger Games", whose author was already well-known worldwide, appeared in the cinema. The script for the first film was written jointly with Collins and adapted for a wide range of viewers, as some scenes in the book were still harsh for the children's audience. A compromise was found, and in March the first part of the epic appeared on the wide screens.

A little more than a year later, in the twenties of November, there was a second film, which was received by spectators with no less enthusiasm. Actors, performing the main roles, gained worldwide fame, and the film was nominated for several awards. Collins began an active period of travel, shooting for advertising and distribution of autographs. Photosessions with their fans, interviews and, of course, invitations to social events. And all this apart from a good fee for using her books as materials for the film. In the interval between the films, publishers had to make an additional one and a half million copies of the "Hunger Games" trilogy. The author has gained real world fame not only in English-speaking countries, but also abroad. The books are translated into Russian, Chinese, Arabic and dozens of other languages.

Without delay, the directors release one after another the last two films, despite the fact that one of the main actors (Philip Seymour Hoffman) died before the end of filming.

In addition, Susan Collins has earned the approval of colleagues in the shop and the journalistic community. "Hunger Games" lasted sixty weeks in the New York Times bestseller list. This, of course, is not an absolute record, but an excellent achievement.

Now, after the release of all four films (the last part of the trilogy was split into two), the passions begin to cool down. Collins still lives in Connecticut and is not going to use his influence for enrichment or anything like that. Everyone is waiting for her new creative ideas, as grandiose as "Hunger Games." If you have not already read them, then do it - the hours spent with the book will fly unnoticed.
