Painful shock: how to behave in a difficult situation

Pain is a protective reaction, a signal to a threatening danger. If its source is not eliminated, then severe consequences, called shock, are possible. During the critical state (shock), due to insufficient blood supply, the work of the organs and systems of the body is disrupted. The shock state is a complex phenomenon that arises as a result of a peculiar reaction to severe trauma (hypothermia, exhaustion of the body, loss of blood) that is related to the body systems or internal organs.

What is a "pain shock"?

Pain pain, as the name suggests, is due to a strong pain stimulus, which can cause irreparable harm to the entire body. During this condition there is an acute cardiovascular insufficiency and a sharp decrease in blood pressure. Stress and severe pain and cause a shock reaction. The absence of anti-shock measures leads to aggravation of the current situation. It should be noted that the severity and speed of development depend on the underlying cause that caused this phenomenon.

What happens in the body?

During a shock state, the body experiences overexertion and depletion of the central nervous system (CNS). Violated the work of the cardiovascular system, which is characterized by a rapid heart rate (which can not be probed) and a decrease in blood pressure. At this time, the human body tries to independently stabilize the pressure, and in connection with this centralization of blood circulation takes place. Blood begins to be supplied to the brain, lungs, heart, and the internal organs and muscles, in turn, receive less than the required amount. That is why there is a disruption in the functioning of internal organs.

Phases of shock state

Let's look at the two main phases of this state.

  1. Excitation - is the response of the body to the resulting trauma and develops immediately after the transferred stress. The patient is disturbed, speech and motor agitation. A person in a state of shock, a pale face, a well-balanced pulse, rapid breathing and high blood pressure. This phase is short-lived and lasts from 5 to 15 minutes, then goes into another, more dangerous state, which without skilled specialists is difficult to detect and warn.
  2. Braking - this phase is due to a sharp decline in strength, while maintaining consciousness. The victim is oppressed, indifferent to what is happening and lack of response to pain. Pale face, low body temperature, private and shallow breathing, decrease in pulse pressure are the main symptoms of shock.

Postponed pain shock, the symptoms of which we have considered, is due, first of all, to the nature and severity of the damage.

Principles of fighting the shock state

  1. Earlier anesthesia of the victim with analgesic agents (preparation Promedol, etc.). However, analgesia analgesic is contraindicated with reduced blood pressure and craniocerebral trauma. Remember that anaphylactic shock, the symptoms of which are difficult to predict, can cause an incorrectly selected medication.
  2. Moderate warming with a blanket, warm clothes or warmers. It is possible to use hot tea, food or a small dose of alcohol. But, when you vomit or injure in the stomach, you can not eat.
  3. Position of the victim in Trendelenburg. It consists in the fact that a man lifts his legs slightly and removes a pillow from under his head.
  4. In oxygen starvation, either inhalation of humidified air is prescribed, or artificial ventilation is performed.

Provision of qualified medical care:

  1. Stop bleeding.
  2. Introduction of cardiovascular and analgesic agents.
  3. The application of the tire is performed in fractures, soft tissue injuries or wounds.
  4. Warming procedures.
  5. In a severe shock state, novocain blockades and plasma infusion are performed.

It is worth noting that the issue of the evacuation of a victim is resolved only after the removal of all symptoms of shock. Remember that quickly taken all the necessary measures will save the life of a person experiencing painful shock.
